It is the first day of junior year the twins are super excited as they both prepared in their own way for the first day of their junior year at whetstone valley high. Ashleigh is in her room picking out the cutest outfit she can find. She tries on so many different options. She finally decided on her pink tank top and a quarter sleeve button up white shirt she leaves it unbuttoned and ties it up right underneath her breast with a pair of white cargo short shorts and a silver sparkling belt. Her shoes are pink and white Nikes. Her beautiful red hair is down with big ringed curls with a pink headband. She sits down at her vanity to do her make-up she uses barely any make-up because her parents do not like her using make-up. She only uses natural tone colors to bring out her violet eyes. Ashleigh is finished getting dressed so she begins to gather up her items for school. While Karissa is in her room having a lot more trouble than Ashleigh did because Karissa is picky, she over thinks every decision. Finally, Karissa comes to a decision she puts on a pale purple summer dress with white sandal heels and a white quarter sleeve button up that she ties up right underneath her breast. She does her beautiful blonde hair in a downside ponytail with a pale purple head scarf tied around her hair like a headband and her hair in the front looking like sideways bangs. The she sits down at her vanity to do her make-up she puts on some bronze eye shadow to make her bright ocean blue eyes n than she puts some Chapstick on. And she is finished getting dressed. As she gathers up her backpack and her purse, she hears her mother’s voice yell up to her and Ashleigh breakfast is ready girls. Both Ashleigh and Karissa make their way to the kitchen. On their way the place their purses and backpacks on the sofa. They enter the kitchen and sit at the table. Their mother made dippy eggs A.K.A. sunny side up eggs, toast with apple butter, bacon, and orange juice. As the girls sit down Nikki walks over and places bananas next to their plates telling them “Do not forget to eat the banana.” Karissa said, “Okay Mom.” Ashleigh said, “Mom, I don’t like bananas.” Nikki replied, “You need the potassium Ashleigh.” Ashleigh agreed. Karissa and Ashleigh finished eating their breakfast and gave their mom a hug and said, “We love you mom bye.” Nikki replied, “I love you both too, have a great first day of school.” Karissa had her driver’s license. Ashleigh has failed the test. So, Karissa is driving them to school today. Their car is a silver Saturn. Yes, they share the car. When they arrived at school everyone said hi to them. They were the most popular girls in school their lives were perfect in their eyes. They went to the office to get their schedules and they always had the same classes. But, not this year. They were split up. Some classes Ashleigh progressed very well in Karissa did not and some classes Karissa progressed in Ashleigh did not. So, they were separated for the first time in their entire educational history. Ashleigh looked at Karissa and said, “At least we have homeroom and lunch together.” Karissa replied, “It’s not the same Ashleigh.” Ashleigh answered, “I know, but it is what has to be if we want to graduate on time.” Karissa said, “You’re right, I will deal with it.”             So, they both headed to homeroom class. They walked in and sat down next to each other by the windows side by side. Ashleigh and Karissa were having a conversation with their best friends Emma and Hope. They were in the coven. But that is not why they were best friends. They grew up together Emma and Hope are Ashleigh and Karissa’s neighbors. Emma lives next door and Hope lives across the street. The teacher of homeroom Mrs. Bishop took attendance. A few minutes later the bell rang for first period. The girls split up to go to their first period Emma and Ashleigh one way. Hope and Karissa the other way. Emma and Ashleigh’s schedules are the same. So is Hope and Karissa’s schedules. That made them feel better they each had their best friends with them if not their sister.             Finally, lunch time the four girls met up outside the cafeteria. Then they left to go get lunch at the local diner. Hope’s mother owns the diner. It is called Hope’s Diner. The girls sit down in a booth and a waitress walks over to give them menu’s and ask what they would like to drink. They all asked for a glass of iced tea. And then they all order a grilled chicken sandwich and fries. It was their usual order. The waitress was new, so she did not know who the girls were. The girls sat there talking about the boys in school. They each have a crush on a different boy. Karissa has a crush on the captain of the football team well it is more than a crush they are together. They have been since the summer before freshman year. His name is Luke Harrison. Emma has a crush on the star/captain of the basketball team Dean Phillips. Ashleigh like’s the new boy his name is Zane Roberts. He is a loner. Does not speak to anyone but hot as hell. Hope like’s Keith Long. He is Luke’s best friend. He also plays football. Their food finally arrives at the table. The girls are in the middle of eating their food and Ashleigh’s alarm goes off on her phone. They have 15 minutes to get back to school and get to their next class. They quickly finish up eating and rush out the door without paying. But they do not have too. Only the waitress does not know that Hope is the owner’s daughter.             The girls leave and headed back to school when suddenly, they are pulled over by the sheriff. Ashleigh and Karissa’s father. Karissa asked, “What is the meaning of this dad? We are going to be late getting back to school.” Sheriff Whetstone replied, “Why did you not pay your meal at Hope’s Diner?” Hope says, “Sheriff Whetstone, my mom owns the diner we don’t pay for meals there especially when I am sitting with the girls.” Sheriff Whetstone replied, “Okay girls I will handle this. Get going back to school.” Karissa said, “Alright daddy see you tonight for dinner we love you.” Sheriff Whetstone responded, “I love you both too, be safe girls.” The girls left to get back to school. The had 5 minutes to get to their classes and the just barely made it.             While the twins are in school Nikki decided to go and finish reading the spell books or the journals of the twins’ ancestors. While reading LuCretia’s journal. Nikki discovered that her daughters are going to endure trials to prepare them for the battle of a lifetime against the darkest evil the world has ever known. It does not say exactly what the trials are or even what the darkest evil is. Just that they will endure it nothing can change the golden twin’s destiny. Little did Nikki know the girls are about to face their first trial at school.             Back at Whetstone Valley High School Karissa is in class. She raises her hand to ask to use the bathroom. The teacher gives Karissa a bathroom pass to use the bathroom on her way to the bathroom she hears a growling sound from behind her. She turns around and there is nothing there. She continues and goes into the girl’s bathroom. After she uses the bathroom, she walks out of the stall to the sink to wash her hands. As she washes her hands, she hears the growling sound again. She looks up in the mirror to see a woman standing there in a long dark gray gown her eyes are completely gray her hair and skin is white. So white like she had been scared to death literally. Karissa stood there in shock for a second and the woman lets out this screeching sound so high pitched the mirrors all broke. Karissa screamed and took off running out of the bathroom grabbing her phone texting Ashleigh to help her. Karissa made her way with the woman fallowing her to Ashleigh’s classroom. As Karissa got closer to Ashleigh’s classroom Ashleigh walked out the door and closed it behind her. Karissa grabbed Ashleigh arm dragging her as she ran by saying “Come on, that crazy b***h is after me we can’t stand her and chat.” Out on the football field is where they ended up. Karissa looked at Ashleigh and said, “what the hell do we do?” Ashleigh said, “I don’t f*****g know.” Karissa responded, “What do you mean you don’t know.” Ashleigh “I guess we use our magic.” Both the girls agreed Here comes the creepy woman they both throw their hands up Karissa throws ice at her freezing her feet to the ground but that did not stop the woman’s screech. So, Karissa froze her mouth shut. The girl’s made a spell quick to banish the woman to an empty cave in the middle of the ocean. They chanted “Woman of screams we silence your cry and send you to the cave at river side.” The exhaled in relief “it worked, it really f*****g worked.” Relieved at what they accomplished they knew they had to get home immediately. They went to their classes to grab their things and met at their lockers to get their backpacks. They left headed for home.             When they arrived at home their mother asked them “What are you two doing home already?” Karissa said, “Mom, this creepy woman with a piercing scream so high pitched it broke the mirrors in the bathroom came after us. We cast a spell and I used my ice to get rid of here.” Nikki said, “What was the words in this spell?” Ashleigh said, “Woman of screams we silence your cry and send you to the cave at river side.” Nikki “No, you didn’t get rid of her all u did was send her to a cave in river side. Come with me girls.” They went down to the basement where their mother pulled out this huge book with our Coventry symbol on it a triquetra. Nikki started flipping through the pages and asked us to describe what the woman looked like. Karissa “she was pale white with white hair gray eyes in a dark gray gown.” Nikki looked at the girls and said, “You just encountered a banshee.” Ashleigh “What the hell is a banshee?” Nikki “A banshee was once a witch whose heart was broken.” Karissa and Ashleigh simultaneously say “Okay! So, how do we get rid of her and why is she after us?” Nikki “she wants your magic both of you.” Karissa “Um – No, that is not happening our magic was given to us not her.” Ashleigh “Exactly, what do we need to do?” Nikki “it’s a potion that you throw on her. The potions should mend her heart and open her back up to love. But we have to be quick just because u sent her to river side doesn’t mean she won’t come back because she still has her own magic.”             The go upstairs and into the kitchen to make the potion as fast as they can it takes about 20 minutes to make the potion and if correctly made five minutes after the potion is bottled it should go from white to blue. They finished the potion and bottle it. They all three are staring at the bottle waiting for it to change from white to blue. Then the front slams open and the twins run out the kitchen to see what is going on. Karissa yells “it’s the banshee mom stay in there and let us know when it turns blue.” Karissa is freezing the banshee in place to keep her from moving. She notices that the banshee keeps escaping the ice as fast as she freezes her. Ashleigh felt why because the banshee has the same gift as her fire. Ashleigh “Karissa this isn’t going to work she has my power.” Ashleigh realized ok then let us fight fire with fire. And starts throwing her fire at the banshee. It was not working fire could not hurt her because she possesses the same gift. So, the twins grabbed each other’s hands to try and shoot fire and ice at her at the same time. That is not what happened though. This golden light came from the girl’s hands stunning the banshee in place it froze her, but it was not ice. No one had ever seen this gift before not even with twins. Now everyone knows why they are called the golden twins. As soon as the girls had the banshee stunned their mother ran out with the potion and poured it on the banshee. She dropped and her hair darken, her eyes turned hazel, her skin went tan and she was wearing regular clothes. Just a normal woman now. She stands up and looks at us and says “Thank you! For reminding me that I can love again.” The woman’s name is Tamera Bale she stayed and helped us repair our home. And she explained to us what happened to cause her to change into a banshee. She allowed her heart break to consume her so much it made her transform into a banshee. A witch whose cries can kill you from her pain and sorrow from her broken heart. That is a bit of a scary thought. The girls were thinking. Nikki “Tamera, why did u seek out my daughters?” Tamera “Their powers drew me in I felt the pull a week ago. It took me a week to find where the pull was coming from. All evil beings will be drawn to your daughter’s powers to try and steal it for themselves. I have never seen magic like theirs or felt anything so strong and powerful. You both must be careful there is dangers in this world you will not even see coming for you. You must be aware at all times and always prepared.” Karissa “We will be.” Nikki “Thank you for helping clean up. Would you like a cup of coffee?” Tamera “No, I must get going. I am sure my sisters are worried about me.” Nikki “Alright let me walk you out.” Nikki escorts Tamera to the front door. While girls stay in the kitchen to talk. Ashleigh “What are we going to do? We are only 16 and all these evil bastard are going to start coming after us?” Karissa “we will be ready for them.” Ashleigh “How?” Karissa “I have a plan.”
