CHAPTER ONE

Festivities could be seen ongoing in city B, Alpha Ryan’s pack. It could be said that it was on this very day that their luna would be chosen and the joy could be seen on everyone’s faces as each did their duties with smiles on their faces. A pack with a luna could signify growth and blessings from the almighty. But then it all happened all of a sudden; the once joyous pack turned to a bloody mess as bodies were sprayed all over the place. The women could be seen carrying their children and running away trying to look for shelter, while the men were trying to fight, defend, and protect their lives, families and pack. But it would seem that even with their enormous strength, they were unable to fight off the monster looking wolves that had just evaded their lands. Wolves twice the normal size pierced through bones, biting and ripping the bodies of whoever they saw as a prey.

‘’it's an attack from pack cordon, alpha ledger’s pack’’ one man who seemed to have recognized the monsters from one of the neighboring enemy packs finally declared but it was too late for him because as soon as he said that, he also got killed by one of the monsters behind him. One would wonder what went wrong in this very pack as why did this misfortune befall them even on the day their very own luna would be chosen?

Meanwhile in alpha Ryan’s office. ‘’What are we going to do now alpha?’’ alpha Ryan’s beta Collins stated while observing alpha Ryan to check even if he would feel disoriented even if it was a little but as usual alpha Ryan was still as calm as a dove even with the chaos going on in his pack. ‘’Should we release those prisoners to stall time a little bit?’’ Collins kept on asking but not a single word was heard from alpha Ryan. He was an alpha that was known to be calm and collected in all situations as not a hair would be out of place. The alpha’s office was silent for a while before alpha Ryan finally opened his mouth to speak.

“Where is she?’’ alpha Ryan finally spoke.

‘‘Uhr who”. Collins asked astonished. Who could our alpha be talking about?

“The young girl we took into our custody forcefully last week” alpha Ryan replied. Last week on their way back from a conference at another country, they stopped at alpha ledger’s pack and there they saw a young girl who looked like a lost dove in the midst of hungry savage wolves and no matter how he tried to ignore her, there was this thing that drew him to her and he did not know why but he has a feeling that alpha ledger’s attack on his pack had something to do with that girl and he was going to confirm just that today.

“she’s in the dark hole alpha” Collins replied looking astonished wondering what alpha Ryan needs with that poor, helpless girl.

“Bring her to me now, and also, send some of our warriors to go and meet alpha ledger’s wolves, without going with anything and instructing them to stop the killing and that I alpha Ryan would like to meet with their alpha to discuss and sort things out in a diplomatic way, I want the meeting now and make sure the girl is also present at the meeting”.

“Noted alpha” saying this, Collins set off to do as he was instructed.

Meanwhile, the once messy and bloodied ground was now as quiet as a cemetery as the meeting that would decide the fate of Alpha Ryan’s pack was ongoing

“Only the heavens know why brother was hellbent on attacking alpha Ryan’s pack today, I thought they were friends?“ Carmella, Alpha Ledger’s sister who had just arrived said while still looking at the bloody mess left on the floor.

“One can never really know the way brother thinks, I being his closest sibling still find it hard to understand him in some certain aspects”. Isabella, Carmella's twin said while also looking at the mess that was created by her brother’s wolves on the ground.

“And to think that their luna was to be chosen today, oh well I guess it was not from the heavens” Carmella added

“Well let’s hurry up as you know how harsh brother can be when he’s angry” Isabella also added.

Back in the meeting room, the tension from the room could be felt meters away as no word was spoken from the two alphas while everyone else present were scared to say a word as the aura the two alphas were giving was one that would make anyone shiver even when there was no cold.

“You took my mate” alpha Ledger finally said after some time glaring at alpha Ryan

“Was that why you decided to turn my pack into a war-zone of hungry monsters?” Alpha Ryan retorted with a glint in his eyes

Smirking a little, alpha Ledger sat straight on his chair like the boss that he was “oh, that was just to proclaim my arrival, you know how I just love to do my things in a grand style and also a different way and oh, it's not my fault that your people are not capable of defending themselves, I could give them a tip if you wouldn't mind” the smirk on his lips widened as he said that last statement.

“I guess you won't mind me doing the very same thing when next I visit your pack, I love repaying favors, Collins, bring the girl, lets gets this over with, I still haven't chosen my luna yet” Alpha Ryan said

Just as soon as Collins left Ryan’s side to bring the girl, Ryan smelt something nice and sweet, something that was just like fresh roses on a hot summer afternoon and as soon as he looked up, he saw the most beautiful girl he had ever seen walking up to alpha Ledger and only one word could come out of his lips
