CHAPTER THREE

Isabella slept for a while and woke up later in the evening. She was about to take her bath when she remembered that she did not have any cloth with her as her staying here was not planned. Just as she was about to step out of the room, she heard a knock on her door

“Luna, it is me, Collins, the Alpha’s beta” Collins said while standing outside the door

“Come in” Isabella said and Collins came in.

“sorry for disturbing your sleep, I brought some dresses for you as I know that you did not come with any, please make do with this one first after which I will appoint some maids to you and they will assist you to the market to get new ones”. How could Ryan had done this to this innocent girl, I thought they were childhood friends, what then happened? Collins wondered while still looking at their new luna.

“Thank you, Collins, but please I would need a favor” Isabella said with a small smile

Collins looked surprised as she has a very sweet and gentle smile “Yes luna, what is it”

“Please inform your alpha that I would like to see him, and tell him that I won't take no for an answer”. Isabella replied.

“Noted, I will deliver your message to him”. After saying that, Collins took his leave leaving Isabella all alone again

Isabella took her bath, dressed up and went downstairs as it was time for dinner. It was no surprise to her that the dining table was although full, yet empty. Varieties of food were lined up on the table. The dining table was long enough that it can easily contain fifty people yet not a single soul was seated there apart from the servants standing behind the door incase their service would be needed.

Isabella turned to one of the maids standing there and asked “is he not coming?”.

“No luna, unfortunately, our Alpha has an important meeting right now and won't be joining you for dinner”

Isabella sat down and quietly ate her food without uttering a word in between. After dinner, she went back to her room and just as she was about to get into the bed, she heard some voices coming from outside her window and she went to check it out. There, she saw a skimpily dressed woman holding her drunk mate at his waist as they both walked inside together. Isabella felt hurt but she did not say anything as she just closed the window and went back to bed.

Early the next morning, she was woken up by someone knocking on her door.

“luna” someone called from outside

“Come in” Isabella said sleepily

Two ladies entered the room. Just by the sight of them, Isa already knew that they were maids

“I am Sea and this is Eva, luna, we are your new maids and we will always be at your service whenever you need us, all you need to do is to call on us”. A short girl, who should be around seventeen to eighteen years of age said while looking at their luna.

Isabella just nodded at both of them while she got up from the bed. She took her bath and with the help of Sea and Eva, she got dressed quickly while she went down to have breakfast.

Today, she would officially resume her duties as the luna of pack Loren and she had decided that even if her mate hates and despises her , she does not have the hate of her new pack and as such, she would do her duties diligently, she would serve and love her new family.

“Eva, what is my schedule for today?” Isabella asked her maid Eva who was standing beside her.

“You would be meeting with the elders and Queen mother today” Eva said after going through the file that was in the tablet that she was holding

“Anything to know about them all”Isabella asked. For some reason unknown to her, she trusts her two maids, it feels like she has known them for ages even when she just met them like couple of hours earlier.

“Well, you would have no problem with queen mother as she already knows you and she is very nice and all, but I cannot say the same for all the elders. There are five elders in this pack and although, the alpha has control over everything, there are some decisions he cannot take without the consent of these elders and one of those decisions is when it comes to the matter of choosing a luna for the pack. You would be introduced further to it and although you are our luna now, it is not yet official as you would have to pass some tests set by the elders of the pack to decide if you are fit to be the luna of this pack, that was what I got from my sources luna” Eva explained to Isabella

“it's just some tests, it should not be that hard right?” Isabella said while walking out of the house to head to the meeting room. She would first meet the elders after which she would have an afternoon tea with the queen mother for their meeting.

“ I wish it was that easy luna, but our alpha has some oppositions amongst the elders and not all of them are in support of him being alpha, some of them want him down and with the origin of this pack, the position of an alpha can go to anyone as far as he has even a bit of an alpha blood in him and some of the children of the elders have alpha blood in them so they are hellbent on bringing him down and I have this feeling that they would use you as an opportunity to bring him down

“They can only do that if they have a weak luna, isn't it?” Isabella added with a smirk

“Yes but...”

“It's ok, I've heard all I need for now”Isabella said cutting Eva off as she entered the meeting hall

“Now let's see who is a friend and a foe” Isabella added while smirking as soon as she entered the meeting hall, the elders were already seated and it looked like some of them were already angry as she was a few minutes late.
