Chapter One

A battle is being fought on the border of the moon shield pack, a battle that has been going on for days. At last the pack seem to have succeeded in pushing the invaders out, just then as the pack was celebrating their victory their Alpha broke out in pain like a mad wolf.

"No, what's happening? ", Alpha Gabriel screamed as his nose bled and he felt his heart being ripped out. At the sight of his alpha in pain the beta of the Moon shield pack zayn ran out to call their Luna spring for it is believed that only one's mate can calm their pain.

He searched for spring to no avail; he assembled other wolves to aid his search but they only found her body torn to pieces in their pack borders with a message saying. "LET'S SEE HOW LONG BEFORE YOUR ALMIGHTY ALPHA RUN MAD MOON SHIELD PACK".

With pain in their heart they brought back the body of their Luna. Alpha Gabriel mourned her like the world had ended after her last right, he went for a killing spray no rough was spared.

After their Luna's death the pack went into darkness; there were no festivals; the only celebration their pack held was the annual full moon feast.

Alpha Gabriel was like a robot; his life revolved around his pack and building security for them.

And just like that 7 years went by.

Meanwhile in the palace of the lycan king a goddess whose beauty threatened the gods lived, she is the daughter of The lycan king Sophia.

She was not only beautiful, but a scholar and warrior. But despite her beauty she was 26 without a mate, with time rumors about her were everywhere.

Some said the moon goddess out of jealousy had cursed her to be alone, she was after all the desire of all so it wasn't hard to believe her beauty to be a curse, especially after the rumor of one of her head maids who tried touching her in her sleep cause she couldn't resist her beauty.

The story and rumors made Sophia and her wolf unhappy, she would be seen often going to hunt in the forest a lot of times and all her hunts were given away to orphan young cubs.

One day after going for her hunt she was summoned by her father.

“my beautiful Sophia, how are you?”. Her father greeted her as she walked into the throne room; her presence left the counsel in awe. "Greetings father, greetings counsel of Alphas",she greeted as she took her place.

Despite being a woman her achievement on the battlefield made her an equal to a man, so she was always invited to important meetings and decision making.

After the meeting, the Alpha king invited Alpha Seun to his study for important discussion.

Alpha Seun is the godfather and former alpha of the moon shield pack. It is said that once the eldest male child of an alpha turns eighteen they take the reins of the pack from their father.

After the discussion of the king and alpha Seun, he went back to moon shield to discuss with his son Gabriel but on entering the Alpha’s quatars his heart bled. The lack of a feminine scent left his son shattered and made him more sure of his decision with the king.

"Gab, are you alright". Gabriel raised his head to look at his father as he fought through his pain and rage. "how long are you going to live like this?, your mother and I are both worried sick".

"they took her from me father, they took my spring from me they will pay". His fathers heart broke at how much his son was hurting behind closed doors.

"with the way you are going you will lose you mind soon without a feminine scent around you, look at you when was the last time you had a woman with you”.

"I don't need a woman father!" He yelled anger evident on his face. "Am sure you don't, but your wolf does and your pack needs a Luna and if you can't do that I have to strip you of your alpha rights' '. He stared at his father in shock.

" you can't do this my title as Alpha is all, I have left".

"then protect it, and by doing so you will marry the daughter of the Alpha king".

"What, do you even understand what you are saying father?".

"yes I do, the king and I have agreed on this, she's a lycan without a mate and you lost yours".

"have you ever thought about what will happen if she happens to find her mate".

"She's 26, young cubs find their mate between 18_20, you and I know miracle can't get her a mate now. So marry her and build security for your pack besides she's a beauty and a warrior". After talking to his son Seun gave him time to think about the alliance.

Meanwhile in the king's palace sophia lost her cool when her father had told her of the alliance, not once in her life did she ever imagine that her father who had always involved her in important matters would make such a decision about her without saying as much as a word to her.

The night suddenly felt long for Sophia. She decided to talk her father out of his madness so she headed for his chamber.

When the guards announced her arrival the king asked that they let her in.

"Father, what is this madness I hear?" she asked without breaking eye contact with her father.

"Have you suddenly lost your manners, Young one?", her father yelled in anger.

"I have no, but am not talking to the king at this moment but to my father who at this moment has wronged me".

"all I do is for your own good Sophia, a woman's beauty fades with time, you need a mate".

"It's not my fault the gods frowned at giving me a mate but that doesn't mean I will be getting married to just anybody".

"You are my daughter, how can you marry just anyone. You will be getting married to Alpha Seun's son, the Alpha of moon shield."

"Father, can you hear yourself, the same man who will be Losing his sense of rage soon, how could you?".

"This is my final decision, leave my chambers this MInute." as Sophia tried to protest the king turned his back to her, knowing her father she knew his words were law.

She ran out in tears she couldn't believe her life, all her life she had imagine what it will feel like to finally behold and be held by her true mate in her anger she shifted to her wolf form and ran towards the boundaries but when she got to the boundary she realized as much as she hated being forced to get married she hated the thought of being a rough more.
