Tomorrow came too fast.
I woke up to my phone blowing up.
100 messages. 50 missed calls.
And one headline:
`BILLIONAIRE ADRIAN COLE MARRIES DAUGHTER OF HIS RIVAL`
Photos. Of me. Of my father.
Of the company he destroyed 10 years ago.
My secret was out.
I ran to his penthouse. The doors opened before I knocked.
Adrian was standing there. No suit. Just a white shirt. Eyes red.
Like he hadn't slept.
"Is it true?" he asked. His voice was empty.
I couldn't breathe. "Adrian, let me explain--"
"My father lost everything because of your father." He took a step toward me. "And you married me for revenge."
"It wasn't like that." Tears fell. "At first. But then--"
"But then what?" He laughed. But it wasn't a laugh. "You fell for me? The contract says no feelings."
I flinched. "I know."
"Do you?" He was in front of me now. So close. "Because I was starting to."
My heart shattered.
"Adrian, I didn't leak the files. I swear. Someone's using me to hurt you."
He stared at me. For a long time.
Then he pulled something from his pocket. The contract.
He ripped it in half.
"Contract's over," he said. "Get out."
The words hit harder than any slap.
I turned. Walked to the door.
My hand on the knob.
"Wait."
I froze.
"Pack your things," he said behind me. "You're not leaving. Not until I find out who framed you."
He didn't trust me.
But he wasn't letting me go.
