Unfounded Proof

Jaxon - 1969 The older man leaned back in his office chair, crossing one arm over his chest and rubbing his furrowed brow yet again. He gave out a long exacerbated sign. "Explain to me again, Mr. Steele, why were you carrying a vial around with a clear liquid," he said looking at the teen sitting in the chair opposite him. "It is unclear to us why we shouldn't believe it's not an attempt to make drugs, right here in school." Principal West's hair seemed to be growing older and hair graying with every single year. His eyes shifted from Jaxon to both of his parents on each side of him who have a similar look but aiming it at the principal. "Now, please, explain what you were doing?" He continued trying not to loose his temper. "Principal West," said Jaxon's father as he spoke up out of turn and placing his hand on Jaxon's arm causing him to stop before speaking. "I'm sure that Jaxon has a viable reason for this experiment. I'm not sure why we keep having to come to your office over the most menial things." The older gentleman looked at Mr. Steele and raised an eyebrow. "I assure you, Sir, that the chemistry teacher had not assigned him to concoct something of this stature." The wispy, just out of college teacher stood behind the group in the office and shook his head agreeing that he hadn't made any aggressive assignment to warrant Jaxon's chemical potion. "So," he said continuing clasping his hands together and leaning a bit forward on the desk. He motioned with a couple of his fingers at the perpetrating vial set stop the desk. "Jaxon, please tell me that this is not drugs that you are creating." Jaxon sat upright in his seat, a smile broadened as he began to speak. "No, it's not," he said confidently. "Actually, it's something more complex than an illegal drug composition. It's farther down the alchemy scale than that." He gave a tilted grin. "You see, I had read in a science journal about an experimental component that reacts but only upon contact. May I?" He asked reaching for the vial with the clear liquid. The principal nodded and motioned for him to continue. Jaxon grabbed the vial briskly and then looked at everyone in the small office. He poured the clear liquid on the desk and over all of its contents. At this point, he was sure some of that paperwork had his name all over it and getting rid of it this way wouldn't be a bad thing altogether. The principal winced at the new mess on his desk but knew better than to stop Jaxon at this point. "Go on," he said disgruntled. He reclined back in his chair nervously. The door swung open causing everyone to turn and look in the direction of the assistant principal. He looked around the room seeing who was here and that Jaxon had just finished pouring some clear liquid on the principal's desk and recapping it. He gave a loud groan. "What are you in here for now, Jaxon?" He said irritated. The taller man made his way into the room and leaned his back into a corner crossing his arms seeming to appear menacing. Jaxon simply shook his head smirking. "Now, you see," he said watching the clear liquid start to dry on the desk. "The various gases when mixed with nitrogen create a very unstable material. Most of these items are found right here in our own lab." He picks up one of the student handbooks laying near the edge of the desk and once Jaxon confirmed that the solution was dry, let the book drop onto the desk. Immediately, a sharp bang, a small bit of force, and a deep purple cloud appeared over the charged paperwork and desktop. All those sitting had some of the debris from the cloud left on their faces. "Not only does it create an awesome iodine colored cloud, but also a loud bang." Jaxon stood back with his hands on his hips proud of what he had successfully mixed. "This is preposterous," said Principal West. "Maxwell, did you set this up?" The slender guy had been dazed by the event and when his name was yelled out, he jumped out of his skin. "No, no sir," he said. The assistant principal looked at Jaxon, then to Maxwell. "So what you are saying, this was not something you had taught, explained, or showed any of the students how to do?" Maxwell shook his head. "Then how in pretell does he know it. Don't you know what this formulation is? Couldn't you have seen this chemical being created? In your own classroom, nonetheless." Maxwell slowly shook his head. "I am not familiar with this mixture, Sirs." The heads of the school looked between each other and then back to the teacher. Jaxon's mom and dad both stood. "It appears that my son has once again outwitted your teaching staff. It's amazing who you hire to teach our youth, yet, one boy can out smart someone who's obviously just.gotten out of college himself," said his father. "I wonder how many slide through the cracks of your education system because the teachers aren't adept to the various learning styles." He motioned for Jaxon and his wife to come with him. "I think we've seen quite enough. Our lawyers will be in contact with yours. Farewell, gentleman." Jaxon's dad then lead them out of the office and down the hallway to the main entrance, exit. The principal stood as the family did and remained standing as they leave. The assistant shook his head in disgust. "He is going to control this school unless we start controlling him." The principal motioned in disagreement. "His family will own this school if this continues." He banged his fist on the desk and what chemical was left let out a small bang and puff of lavendar smoke in the principal's.face. The bang could be heard near the door way as Jaxon and his parents left. He looked over his shoulder and smirked. "If they'd have heard me out, they'd have known any remanants would still be sensitive to contact." He gave a shrug and went to get into the family wagon. Jaxon's mom opened the car door for him. "Jaxon, you are going to have to stop outdoing the teaching staff," she said to him calmly. "We know you are highly intelligent. There's no denying that fact. However, there's not another school in this area that you can go to at this point. You have one more year, Can you please contain yourself?" "Mom," he said leaning towards her. "If I don't challenge their intellect, who will?" She proceeded to get into the car and sit alongside her husband. "He's quite incorrigible, "he said, all the while starting up the car and heading out of the school parking lot. "Too incorrigible," she added. "I'm must talk to my father. See what his recommendation is."
