Chapter 2: Valentine's Family

After months of getting married, Christine talked to Adan about having a child. At first, Adan was hesitant to do it because he was scared that maybe it was still not the right time to bear a child. As we all know, having a child is every girl's dream, which is why Christine never stopped asking Adan about it. Adan saw in her eyes that she was fully ready to have a child and that she was now capable of doing it. Because of this, he decided to do it. They made love with no regrets. They felt genuinely happy, and weeks after that, Christine was already pregnant. Adan did everything to support her. He gave her everything that she needed and never left her by her side. After 9 months, they are shocked by how big her stomach is. One day, they decided to go to the hospital for a check-up. The moment Christine stood up, she saw blood flowing down her legs. She feels that everything is painful. She couldn’t take it anymore, which is why he asked Adan to do it by himself. Adan is so nervous because he doesn’t know what to do. Thankfully, during the 8 months of waiting for the baby, they learned how to give birth and get the baby out of their womb. Christine explained everything that he needed to do, and Adan learned to do it fast. The baby went out successfully. They were so happy as soon as they saw the cute little boy. But... as they were embracing the newly born baby, Christine felt something moving in her womb. They thought that it was normal if your stomach is still a little bit big even after giving birth, but when Adan checked it again, they were shocked because there was still one more baby in her womb. Adan again took the baby out, and it was also a boy. They were so happy that they started crying. But Adan suddenly became nervous because once the government finds out about it, they have to give up one of their children. So Adan immediately closed all the doors, windows, and curtains. Christine was so scared that she lost consciousness. Adan cleaned everything up and took care of their children. When Christine woke up, they did not know what to do. They do not want to give one of their children, which is why they decided to keep them both. They named them Leanne and Lennon. Adan built a basement to keep their children safe from the government. They succeeded in hiding them for 15 years. As they grew up, Adan taught them to be brave and strong-minded all the time. Leanne is more of an intelligent boy, and Lennon is focused more on fighting. Leanne spends most of her time studying, while Lennon keeps on working out every day. Since the day that they were born, their parents did not allow them to go outside. They are too scared that maybe people might see them and report them to the government. Because of curiosity, Leanne and Lennon wanted to see what was there outside their house. In their 15 years,

All they can do is imagine things that they have read about in books and articles. They grew up hearing from their parents that the world outside their home was a very scary place. They should not trust anyone aside from their family. One day, Leanne called Lennon and asked him if he wanted to go see what was outside their home. Lennon agreed, so they planned how they could escape from their parents. Leanne prepared two books, one for each of them, and wrote down the most important things that they needed to remember. He told Lennon that he should be ready to face the consequences of their actions. If ever they are separated, they should not lose those books because they will forget about their family. At the time that they finished planning, Lennon gave a safety knife to Leanne in case of an emergency. They wore jackets and hats to hide their faces from the crowds. During the night, when both of their parents were sleeping, they started doing what they planned. They went outside for the first time. They were very nervous but also excited at the same time. Leanne was so happy to see what was outside while Lennon was not putting his guard down. While they were walking, they saw a group of soldiers walking in their direction. They acted calmly and passed by the army. Nothing happened, but suddenly they heard a loud scream coming from behind them. It is another scene where a child is taken away from his parents. They followed that army that took the children because they wanted to know what they were doing with them. They went after them until they arrived in a restricted area where citizens could not go inside. They climbed up a tree to see what was happening inside. It was a good thing that Lennon brought his microscope, which made it easier for them to see what was going on. Lennon saw the girl being shot by a gun. He was so shocked that Leanne took the microscope to see it for herself. He noticed that there was no blood on the child’s body. While they were looking carefully at what was happening, one army saw them and they ran really fast on their way back home. When they arrived, thankfully, their parents were still sleeping. They went directly to their room and talked about what they saw. Leanne asked Lennon if he saw blood when the girl was shot. Lennon said that he did not see any blood. Leanne thinks that there is a possibility that they are not killing the children that they are taking. But he is puzzled about what they are doing to those children. A few minutes later, they did not notice that there was someone who saw both of them entering the same house. When you report someone hiding an extra child in their home, you will get a large amount of money, so that person reported them. Not long after they went outside, they heard a loud bang coming from their front door. It is the army. It was a very unforeseen event that they were not able to prepare themselves for, and the twin brothers weren’t able to hide. The army saw them, and Adan tried to protect them. Leanne and Lennon were able to run outside because Adan and Christine tried to stop the army from going near their children. But even though they managed to get out, the army was too fast and they were able to catch up to them. They were caught and brought back to their house. When they were back, they saw Christine sitting on the floor while holding the wounded Adan. One of the soldiers shot Adan in his lower stomach three times. He was still alive when the twins were brought back, but he did not last long. He died minutes after they saw each other. The twins and Christine cried and tried to kill the army, but sadly, they were too strong. They told Christine to choose which one of her children were going to stay and which one was going to leave. She hugged both of them and told the army that both of them were staying. She did not want any of them taken away. Lennon and Leanne both looked at each other, and just by looking, they were able to understand each other. Leanne volunteered to go with the army, and Lennon stayed with his mother. Although Christine did not want it to happen, they didn’t have a choice. Christine doesn’t want to let go of Leanne, but Lennon stopped her. The army took Leanne, leaving the dead Adan, Christine, and Lennon behind. After a few days, Christine committed suicide. She couldn't bear the grief she felt at losing Adan by her side.
