Having managed little rest during the night, Hennery was slow to join Tiryon and Layen the next morning. When he did arise, he found the sun had mostly dissipated the lingering mist. But Galen was nowhere to be seen. Hennery was about to ask the others where he’d gone when he spotted Galen returning through the trees some distance away. Something about his stride and expression made Hennery wonder if he’d been walking throughout the dark night. When Galen’s route brought him past Hennery, he paused a moment. “Roen, I…” The Anãrren sighed before meeting Hennery’s gaze. “I should apologize for my reaction last night. It wasn’t fair of me. You were trying to help, and I appreciate the effort. I suppose there are times when I fail to accept aid graciously.” Then he gave Hennery a faint smile
