For me, this is a very special story.
It isn’t the first story I wrote, nor is it even the first book I published. But it is the one I’ve been working on the longest, and I’ve had these characters in my head for almost 20 years.
They are the reason I began writing this book, and it’s helped me through some of my most difficult times by offering me both distraction and hope—and in the years that I have lived with them, these characters and this story have also given me a chance to hone my craft, as I wrote and rewrote this simple tale, ever striving to make it the best I am capable.
Now, after so very long, I get to share all of that with you.
And I hope that you find them to be just as special as I do.
