CHAPTER 7 ADAM This was going to be a lot harder than I thought. ''Are you sure, she's the one'' Ralpha questioned. ''I mean you did say you couldn't feel the spark''he added. ''Maybe, she isn't the one'' Lyall muttered. They had a right to question, at this point, any mistake would ruin everything and any delay would take us fifty years back. ''She is, her wolf is asleep" I bit out, bitterness spreading in my throat. ''If you say so''Raphla mumbled, tilting the car in a left turn. He had more to say, they both had. ''We have to awaken her, there's no time" Leo-wolf argued. He was right, there wasn't enough time. The bridge was nearly broken, humans and wolves were dying, the rogue attack map spread wider into the city, and Antonio's coronation* was approaching. ''Any reports on Ansel''Raphla and Lyall made eye contact ''He's broken out''. 𝘍𝘶𝘤𝘬. There was no doubt that he was behind the attacks. He led the rogue packs and he was breaking the bridge slowly. He has become the rogue king'' But the question of how he got out remains'' Lyall added. He couldn't have done it alone, someone helped him. 𝘈 𝘳𝘰𝘺𝘢𝘭 𝘮𝘰𝘴𝘵 𝘭𝘪𝘬𝘦𝘭𝘺. Ancient years ago, a group of wolves were caught trying to commit treason against the Alpha-my father, who at the time submitted the wolves to great torture and great doses of wolfsbane. They had later confessed they had a leader, Ansel, my stepmother's son and second in line to the throne. The punishment for treason was death. My stepmother had begged, cried, and refused to eat for days, begging clemency on her son, who showed no remorse. My father loved her, so he banished him into the undergrounds and told a witcher to place a curse of a burning chain door which can only be broken by the blood of a creeper. But, creepers don't exist anymore. At least, they don't exist in places you can find them, except her. ''Maybe she's not the last of her kind''Raphla explained. Creepers have the ability to steal wolves, which is worse than killing them. A werewolf without his wolf was an empty shell and that's what we needed Ansel to become, an empty piece of s**t. ''The last thing we need is our faith being in a human wolf'' Lyall hissed, his grip on the steering wheel tightened. ''That's your Luna you're speaking about'' Ralpha glared at him ''We don't know that yet''he muttered. ''Enough'' I barked, ending their glaring contest. 𝘍𝘶𝘤𝘬 𝘵𝘩𝘪𝘴 𝘴𝘵𝘶𝘱𝘪𝘥 𝘤𝘶𝘳𝘴𝘦. I breathed out a sigh of frustration. ''I'll mark her''I said under my breath ''Again'' I added. Lyall nodded, heading into the company's private garage. ''f**k this stupid curse''Ralpha barked, slamming the car door as he got out. I closed my eyes trying to calm my wolf. Images of her flooded into my mind. She had grown up well since the last time I saw her-five years ago. Her black hair was long and glossy and her eyes were big and round with a beautiful shade of hazel. Her body was voluptuous, she had become a beautiful young woman from the frail nineteen-year-old she had been. Her breasts were full and her hips were wide, complimenting her small waist, her skin was white and her lashes were long and curled, the urge to grab her from across the table had occurred to me too many times. ''Aren't you coming?'' Lyall asked, closing the door. I took a deep breath, hoping my eyes were back to their normal shade. I adjusted the bulge in my pants and closed the door behind me. 𝘋𝘢𝘮𝘮 𝘩𝘦𝘳
