We arrived home after leaving from grandfather's attorney. Leaving our parents in the foyer, Celest and I hurried up to our room, shutting, the door behind us. "You saw dad's expression and change in mannerism? Right?" I asked her as soon as the door was shut. "I did." she answered sitting at her desk. I leaned up on my own thinking, "It was such as drastic change too," I said, "and his smile seemed so forced and saddened, like the time when Kaleb's mom poisoned gamby." Celest nodded, her face solemn and dark. "It never reached his eyes." she said "Who should we take with us?" Celestia questions changing the topic as I entered my side of the room, removing my clothes. "Jerrald and Jarrell? I don't know, but I know I want Jerrald with me." I answered. "You always want Mr. Dark and brooding with you!" she teased. "Says you! Mr. Optimistic is, and I quote 'dreamy and I can't think of anything when he's near'." I retorted making fun with my sister. "But really Sel, who are we gonna take with us?" she asked looking into my eyes. "Our boyfriends, that's two, JJ, Slade, Tech, and Tev," I said. "Did you forget, the letter said six," Celestia said. "I know, but what's the extra person? The more the merrier.". She rolled her eyes at me and began clicking away on her phone. My phone buzzes and by the feel, I know she messaged in the group. "They all said yes. Let's get packing." she squealed. "It's a sixteen-hour drive to Black Moon Valley," I said walking into my closet and pulling out my red and black duffel bag; I threw in my towel, a swimsuit, my silk pajama, some change of clothes, and my computer. "That's it? No sexy lingerie?". I looked at my sister. "Really!" she yells, "Jerry really doesn't care for it?" I smile and shake my head. She looks at me and smiles, sits up on my bed, and pats the space next to her. I walk up and lay down on the bed next to her. She lies down and wraps me in her arms. Kissing my forehead, she whispers, "You're so impassive. You know you can talk to me about what's bugging you, right?" "I know, I can't help but feel like something is going to go wrong," I replied. "What do you mean by that?" "When we were at pabi's funeral, when I told my I got a headache, I lied," I sighed out "I was getting these flashes of images and visions, one of them particular scarred me, you-you were..." "I was what, Bast?" she asked. "Take your time, breathe." She reached over to my nightstand and took out my pump. Pushing it between my lips, she pumped three puffs, and I swallowed. "Jarrell was holding you close to his chest, you were bleeding, bad." I whimpered. She pulled me in close and we lay there until we fell asleep. Early the next morning, we heard the loud constant beep of Jerry's car horn. Not bothering with a shower and still in our pajamas, we kissed Dad, grabbed a piece of toast from the counter beside Mom, pecked her cheek, grabbed our bags, and left for our trip to the lake house. On the way, we collected our other friends, laughed and joked, and sang songs until a sign saying 'Welcome to Black Moon Valley' came into view. We drove past a rather serene desolate and creepy village, with creaking windows that knocked against the building in the wind to the blank and hollow stares we received from the village men. Jerry turned down a dirt road and excelled for five miles beyond the boundary fence before stopping in front of a beautiful white and marble two-story house. Its marble columns and contrasting dark oak floors gave it a serenely haunting vibe. We piled out of the van and hobbled up to the house. My feelings of danger increased and I gripped Jerry's hand, afraid to look up at the corner room window to my right. Mustering my courage, I peeked and paled at what I saw. A tall shadow, with claws of gold and eyes pools of blood. "Jerry." I whimpered. "I see it." he growled, "don't alert the others just yet." We began walking to the house, I stopped on the porch and Jerry stopped with me. "You guys go in, we're gonna go for a walk." I said to them. I pulled him over to the trees a bit away from the house and told him everything from the morning of the funeral. He pulled me into a tight hug, pressing me so far into himself that I may as well vanish. "It's alright," he whispers to me. I shake my head. "No, Jerry. I am afraid," I cry, "afraid that it will take her from me. To a place I cannot go, a place I won't be able to reach her.". He holds my shoulder, pulling me from him, and looks into my eyes. "I won't let that happen!" he declares; his eyes resolute and determined. Celest and I have known the twins for as long as I can remember. Whenever I try to think back to a time before them, nothing comes up. I try to smile the best I can. "You know, this is why I love you," I said, pecking him on his lips. He feigned hurt and lifted me so that I could be at eye level with him. "I thought you loved me because of my charm?" he said pouting, "To think of all the times I thought my handsome face was what kept you!". I laughed at his bashful banter and rested my head on his shoulder, returning to my solemn self. "What am I going to do about that thing, J?" I asked, "It scares me to no end." "We will take that room, and I won't ever leave your side!" he said holding me close once again, "Not for as long as we are here."
