Chapter 5-Tranformrd but Not Expecting Anything.

Ava was still pretending to sleep listening to her parents talking in the hallway. She did know what they meant by not telling her whatever it was. It was kind of driving her mad by being in the hospital in the first place. It felt like the fever was still. Her mother came back in the room and sat near the bed.

“What do you need to tell me?”Ava asked her mother.

“What?” Maria confused.

“What are you hiding from me?” Ava asked again.

“I heard you and dad talking about telling me the truth. What truth could that be?” Ava accused.

“I am sorry Ava but now isn’t the time to be discussing this. You need to rest.” Maria side stepping the conversation.

After her mother left, she keep tossing and turning. Still in the hospital Ava felt her skin was itching and crawling like something wanted out. She tried to get up but she fell getting out of bed. Got tangled in the IV and other cords around the room. Trying to get up to adjacent bathroom. Looking her reflection and saw glowing amber eyes looking back her. Ava was trying to not scream but looked her hand they had claws coming from fingers. That’s when her body started contoured to the form of a wolf. Somehow she shifted into a wolf but stayed in the bathroom. The night passed, Ava woke up on the bathroom floor. She was still confused but will keep to herself what happened.

Quickly, made it back to her bed. Ava quickly put herself in order for when the nurse came to do morning check. The nurse soon came around, “When can I be released to go home?” Ava asked.

“If you are feeling fine and the doctor gives the okay.” The nurse replied then walked out.

Ava left to her own devices started doing homework from the day before to keep her mind occupied until her parents came to visit.

Kaleb came in this time without Maria. Ava noticed this. It was strange for just her dad to show up without her mom. “Where’s Mom?” Ava asked.

“Your mother is still at work. She had an emergency meeting to attend.” Kaleb said.

“Oh,” Ava not convinced.

“The doctor said you can be discharged. I already filled out the paper work. We gathered your things and leave.” Kaleb replies handing her some clothes. He left the room so she had privacy to get dressed.

Ava was ready to leave but thought how she still felt odd. She realizes her senses were heightened but never noticed before. She knew what other people or patients were having by smelling the air. She could hear conversations from the floor above her and down the hall. Just stood there taking in everything like a baby would.

“Come on Ava” Kaleb demanded dragging Ava down the hall and out of the hospital.

Driving home was quiet. No one saying anything. Just plane silence. Getting home, Ava just ran off to her room. She knew Serena was worried sick.

“Hello, ”Serena answered.

“It’s me Serena”Ava replied.

“Oh, Thank God. Ava what happened that you needed to be in the hospital?” Serena asked.

“All I do remember was passing out and waking up in the hospital. My parents never told me anything else. I think my parents are hiding something from me though.” I blurted out.

“Okay. But what do you mean?” Serena question Ava.

“I was pretending to be asleep when I heard them talking about we need to tell Ava the truth. Of course, my father told her now wasn’t the time.” Ava said but wanting to keep everything else that happened to herself.

Serena caught Ava on the drama that was happening at school, which Ava never cared about. She wanted some entertainment before going to bed.

Ava fell asleep and the house was silent. She woke up to shouting from the front of the house. There were lights of police cars outside the house. Ava heard her father shouting,” I have nothing do with whatever charging me with!”

Getting up and she saw her mother watching her husband being arrested. For what, Ava did not know but it will change somethings for her. Only to open a door with too many questions.

Maria comes into Ava’s room and says” Your father has been charged with murder but I will prove him innocent. I need to call your brother about what is happening.”

Thinking back when she stayed in the hospital the passed two days, her father mentioned that girl Margo how he is dealing with her. Did he do something with her or Henry?
