Sophia stood in the empty healer's house where Andrew had been, her eyes cold as frost. She'd told him to wait for her, but after rushing back from dealing with Daniel's discharge, the room was bare. The bed was being sanitized for the next patient. Andrew had checked out and vanished. All because she'd spent an extra hour with Daniel. Her messages to Andrew went unanswered, and a nagging unease twisted in her gut. His recent coldness, so unlike his usual clingy devotion, gnawed at her. Something was wrong. Frowning, she pulled out her phone and dialed Andrew's number. Before it could connect, Daniel's voice broke through. "Sophia, why're you zoning out here? Where's Andrew?"
