Chapter 26

2220 Words
Simone's POV My heat was finally over.  I was drained but I desperately wanted to get out of this bedroom.  My mates were still asleep so I quietly got out of the bed to take a much needed shower for my sore body.  I was in the shower for five minutes before a pair of arms wrap around my waist. "Hello love," Silas said before kissing my shoulder. "Good morning Silas."  I could feel him on my back.  "None of that this morning.  I want to shower and eat downstairs with everyone else.  There's still things to do before the Luna ceremony."  His body tensed.  "What's wrong?" "We need to talk before we head downstairs love." We finished washing up and then headed back into the bedroom to get dressed.  Once we were all dressed, I sat on the bed and waited for them to tell me what was going on.  They explained to me how Jason showed up to warn us about the plans that his father and Kaleb had to come get me.  How dare they.  I already figure that Alpha David probably found something out about the prophecy and that's why he wanted me back there.  Kaleb on the other hand was unbelievable.  I will never be his.  He rejected me and even if he didn't, I had already planned to leave.  How could I  ever trust someone who treated me the way he did as my mate.  I'm happy where I am and when they get here I will be giving them a piece of my mind. I was tired of being seen as weak.  They couldn't control me anymore.  When they said that there was a she-wolf from here helping them, Maribel's warning rang in my ear. "Veronica," I whispered.  "Veronica is the she-wolf he's talking about." "How do you know?" Sage asked "Mirabel was very uncomfortable the other day when Veronica walked in.  She told me I needed to be very careful around her and not to trust her.  It's just a theory but I think it might be her." "We'll discuss all of this during the family meeting.  We just wanted to let you know what was going on first," Silas said. "So we'll just do a small Luna thing with family and we can celebrate at a later date," I said.  "The ceremony isn't a big deal to me.  We can tell the pack that we are rescheduling and only fill a select few in on what's going on." "Look at you being Luna already," Silas said kissing me. "Who will be at this meeting?" I asked. "Us, mom, dad and Skyler if she comes," Silas said. "I think we should add Mirabel to the meeting not only because she is now the gamma female but also because she will be training me and I trust her.  The Betas and gamma needs to be there also as well as Jessie and any guards that you are going to select for me.  And what do you mean if Skyler comes?  What happened to Skyler?" They were quiet for a moment before Sage spoke.  "When Jason came she found out he was her mate.  She ran from him and has been locked in her room since.  She's blocked out her link from everyone." "Well I will go speak to her.  I think I know why she ran."  I got up from the bed.  "You guys can get everyone together for the meeting."  I kissed each  of them before walking out of the room. Skyler's POV This can't be happening to me.  I pulled the covers over my head when I heard a knock at me door.  I had been locked in my room crying my eyes out since I ran away from my mate.  I didn't know what else to do.  I was in shock.  When I smelled him, I couldn't help but to follow his scent in excitement but when I saw him I was distraught. I could feel someone trying to reach out to me through mindlink but I had everyone blocked.  I even made my wolf Eliza enforce my block and block hers too.  She was a very strong wolf.  She wanted her mate as badly as I did but she understood how I felt about the mate that was chose for me.  I knew who all of the ranked members of the surrounding packs were as well as most of their children.  Jason was so handsome and my heart was calling out to him but I couldn't be with him.  I couldn't accept him as my mate and become Luna to the pack that treated Simone like crap.  She was my sister. I heard my bedroom door opening and I could smell Simone as she entered.  She didn't say anything.  She just climbed in the bed beside me and wrapped her arm around me.  After a few minutes I finally spoke. "I can't accept him as my mate Simone.  Not after the way they treated you." "I can't tell you what to do or make the decision for you but I can give you my opinion on things and after that the choice is yours," she said.  "Don't let what happened to me stop you from being loved.  Do you know why Jason was here?"  I was silent.  I didn't actually know why he was here and I didn't try to find out.  I've been in my room ever since.  "He came here to help me.  He wanted to warn us about what his father and Kaleb were up to.  They will all be here on Saturday and I think you should talk to Jason.  You don't have to make any decisions right away but I think you should just talk to him and don't let my life growing up get in the way of the future you could have." "I love you Simone and I appreciate you coming to talk to me." "You blocked everyone else out," she laughed.  "But I figured I could get through to you.  I'm sure Jessie is worried and would like to talk to you too.  Now I want you to shower and get into some clean clothes.  There is an important family meeting in a little while that you need to be there for." "What's going on?" "The reason Jason came here," she said.  She got up and walked to the door.  "Meet us in the family room when you're done." I pulled myself out of my bed and ran to my bathroom to shower thinking about what Simone just said to me.  It was such simple advice but it meant a lot to me. Kaleb's POV "You stupid human.  Look what you did," my wolf yelled at me. "Shut up.  We will get her back.  I'm tired of you yelling at me." "Either you get her back or I'm taking over and I'll get her back on my own," he huffed and closed the link. I shifted into my wolf and took off running.  I needed to clear my head and calm him down and this was the only way.  Training wasn't what it used to be because we were working on our plan to get Simone.  Jason didn't want to do any type of sparing with me anymore.  Actually, he was barely a friend to me anymore.  How dare he tell me to just forget about my mate?  She was MINE!  Would he just forget about his if she ran away?  I don't care that I rejected her.  I will get her back and make her pay for running away.  She'll always be mines. After a few hours of running, I shifted back into my human form and headed to shower before the meeting with the Alpha.  I walked into the office and only Gamma Robert and Nicholas were there waiting with him.  They didn't look like they wanted to be there.  Where was Jason?  I tried linking him to get here for the meeting but he was blocking me out. "Jason will not be joining us for the meeting.  He claims he is busy and wants nothing to do with our plan," said Alpha Daniel.  "I'll deal with him later." "Then I don't have to be here either," said Nicholas.  "This is crazy."  He stormed out of the office. "I'll get him," I said. I ran out of the office and headed downstairs after him.  I found him in the back of the house  getting ready to shift. "Nicholas hold up," I called out.  "I need you in this meeting." "No you don't," he said.  "You only need people that agree with what you're doing.  I don't." "What are you talking about?  She's my mate.  How can you not agree to help us go get my mate?" "You rejected her.  She is no longer your mate.  She got her second chance already and you would get yours too if you would just forget about her.  You're and i***t if you believe she would leave her mate and come back here to you."  He shifted into his wolf and took off. Basil was furious.  I needed to calm him down but I had to head back to the meeting. "Don't worry we'll get her," I told him. "If you don't then I will," he growled. I walked into the office and the head warrior along with a few others were now there.  They were discussing our plan of attack. "I think we need to head there earlier than our meeting time so we can scope out the area.  They're not going to let us in there with all of theses warriors.  They'll know something is up," I said. "You're right.  I'm going to call that she-wolf and see if she could get Simone somewhere close to the warriors while we're inside.  I doubt they'll want her in the meeting with us," Alpha Daniel said.  "Get the warriors together that we're taking with us.  train today and tomorrow.  We leave early on Saturday." Jason's POV I was going to prove to my mate and Simone that I changed.  I'm going to show them both that I will be a better Alpha than my father and make my pack better.  I also needed to give Simone a personal apology.  I would never want any of my pups to be treated the way we treated her if something happened to me.  I was grateful for my wolf.  When I first got him I was still full of anger and hatred for Simone.  But bonding with my wolf made me realize I was taking my anger out on the wrong person.  My anger should've went to her parents and my father.  My father made everyone hate Simone but at the end of the day we made the choice to treat her like crap.  I was disgusted with myself and my pack's behavior.  I can't change the past but I can make amends and change things for the better. I sat in the waiting area of the hotel I picked to meet up with the council.  Usually they would've come to the pack to speak but I needed to speak to them in private first.  The only reason I was able to get a meeting so quickly was because Council Member Jameson grew up with my grandfather and still tried to keep in touch.  A she-wolf walked up to me and told me to follow her to the conference room.  Five council members sat there waiting for me. "Good morning Jason," said Council Member Jameson.  "Please tell us the full story of what brings you to us.  It must be a serious matter since we are meeting here instead of at your pack." "Good morning council members.  I came here for something that I feel is very serious and I need your help with.  My pack and Dark Sky Pack are in danger because of my father and my beta.  I'll start from the beginning." I told them about the battle where my mother was killed.  I told them how we treated Simone afterwards.  I told them how Kaleb rejected her and she ran away. I told them how she already had her second chance mates and about a prophecy my father thought she may be a part of.  I also told them how I went to Dark Sky pack to warn them.  I left no information out.  I was man enough to admit my part in things. "So your father is planning to go kidnap another pack's Luna?" Council Member Jeffery asked.  "This is a very serious accusation and a crime if it is true." "Yes  I can assure you that everything I've said is true.  I tried to convince them that this would start a war and we shouldn't do it but they won't listen.  We have a meeting scheduled with them on Saturday.  Originally the meeting was to discuss an alliance with them but once my father found out Simone was there, he began making other plans.  My father is planning to attack and kidnap the Luna if they don't agree to give her back to him." "We will be at this meeting on Saturday," said Council Member Jameson.  "We will contact them and we will get everything sorted." "Thank you Council Members."
