Simone's POV
We were called back downstairs to finish the meeting with Alpha Quinn. I didn't know what more there was to be said but I knew I needed to hear the rest. I had a feeling that there would be a lot said about Halfmoon Pack's Alpha and how I now fit into that picture. I still didn't know how I felt about it.
We walked into the conference room and everyone was back in their seats waiting for us to arrive. Everyone looked much better than they did before we left for a lunch break.
"OK," Alpha Quinn began. "I was going to suggest a DNA test to confirm whether Simone was a member of my family but after hearing from Mallory I'm convinced that Simone is my cousin and a DNA test isn't necessary. Unless of course you want a DNA test for confirmation?" He looked at me.
"After hearing the story, I am also convinced that we are family," I smiled at him.
"I only wish that I knew about you sooner so that I could have saved you from all that you had been through." He looked at me with sadness in his eyes.
"You are not to blame for what happened to me. The only ones to blame are those who did those things to me. You didn't know I existed. I am just happy to know that I do still have family; besides my mates of course."
"I hope that you visit again and we can get to know each other."
"I would love that."
"Now onto the next topic of our meeting." he looked over at the other women sitting in the room. "There is a prophecy tied to our family. I know you've heard quite a bit today but I am just going to rip off the bandage and tell you that I think you may be the one."
"The one?" I asked confused. What prophecy?
"We think you may be the one from the prophecy." He paused. "For many years this pack has had a great relationship with witches. These women here with us are from the coven we have here in this pack."
I looked at them amazed. I had never met a witch before. I'd never really met anyone before I left Halfmoon. I was excited and amazed to be in the presence of witches.
"This is my great-aunt Cecilia," he introduced an older woman with long white hair. She had the same sparkling gray eyes he had. "She is the coven leader here. Beside her is Bridgette. She is my mate's grandmother. And Beside her is Daniella."
I looked at Luna Divine in amazement. I could tell she wasn't a wolf but I had no idea she was a witch. I had never heard of a witch being a Luna. But this made me want to get to know my Silver Springs family so much more. They were so accepting of others and I loved that about them already.
"Many years ago my great, great, great, great grandfather Theo was dating a witch named Mariana. She was in love with him. All he wanted was to find his fated mate. He tried breaking things off with her but she stayed around hoping she could convince him to take her as his chosen mate. He was 23 years old and still hadn't found his mate. On Mariana's younger sister's Celeste's 18th birthday he realized that she was his mate. Mariana was furious that her little sister was mated to the man she wanted to be with. She begged Celeste to reject him but she refused. Growing up around wolves, she understood how much the mate bond meant to them and didn't want to ruin it. Furious that neither one of them would reject each other Mariana ran off and devised a plan to hurt them. Mariana and Celeste were from a powerful witch family and our family line had always had very strong Alphas. We learned that those born of Celeste and Theo's line were to be the most powerful hybrids. Mariana became involved in dark magic and cast a curse when she found out Celeste was pregnant.
"What kind of curse?" I asked.
"The curse prevented all those from Celeste and Theo's line to access their magic. They would be powerful in both wolf and human form. Once marked and mated, their mate would have access to some of their magic making them a powerful couple.. We have always remained strong in our wolf form but having access to our full powers would make us stronger. Their mother found out what Mariana was up to but it was too late to stop her. None of the magic they tried could break the curse so a prophecy was formed by a group of powerful witches in our pack. Alot of good magic was poured into the prophecy and we have been waiting for it to pass to no avail but we not thing that you may be the one to end the curse."
"Why me?" I asked. " I'm no one special. How am I supposed to end a curse when I couldn't even stop all of the things that happened to me?"
Alpha Quinn was about to respond when his eyes glazed over and I knew that he was mind linking someone.
"I apologize there's a matter that need my attention," he said standing up. "I'll be back shortly."
"Do you need our help?" Silas asked.
"No but thank you. I'll be back shortly," Alpha Quinn responded.
We sat and patiently waited for him while I thought about what this prophecy could be. Now I was anxious and wanted to know what powers I could possibly have since I may technically be a hybrid.
Unknown POV
After my mother explained to me what she wanted me to do, she teleported me to the outskirts of Silver Springs Pack. With the potion she gave me in my hand, I headed in the direction of the pack. I began thinking over her plan and my options. I didn't want to do what she told me to do. I wasn't an evil witch like she was. I knew that Silver Springs Pack housed many witched from the stories I had been told so I was hoping that they would be able to help me. I had a plan of my own and I was hoping I could speak to a witch here before my mother caught on to my plans. She was very powerful and if she found out that I wasn't following her orders, she would definitely make me suffer.
I tucked the potion into my pocket when I got closer and began to smell the werewolves that were guarding the territory. I had never been near any wolves. I was nervous and tempted to take the potion my mother gave me but I would need it once I got to the witches. I hope I get that far. I was a stranger coming on their territory and I didn't know what they would do to me.
"I desperately need to speak with your Alpha and your coven leader," I called out knowing that they could hear me with their heightened senses.
"What do you want witch?" I could see a very large, very attractive man walking towards me.
"I mean no harm to anyone," I told him. "I have information that your Alpha may want to hear."
"What information?" he asked.
"I will only speak to your Alpha."
I watched as his eyes glazed over. I think it was called mindlinking; they way they communicated. I hope that he was communicating with his Alpha and not calling for more wolves to come.
"Follow me," he said.
I followed him and could see more wolves around guarding the territory eyeing me suspiciously. I smiled at them but they just stared at me with a blank expression. We got onto the massive territory and came upon a beautiful large red brick house. It had to be at least six stories. I'd never seen such a large house. He escorted me into a room and told me to have a seat and that the Alpha will be with me shortly.
I sat in a chair and patiently waited while thinking of how I will tell the Alpha why I'm here and what I knew. I knew that there was a possibility he wouldn't believe me but I was taking a chance. I was hoping he was kinder than my mother had told me his family was.
The wait wasn't very long before another very large man walked into the room with a beautiful woman by his side. He smelled like a wolf but she didn't. I looked at her and felt connected to her in a way but I didn't know why. He made me a bit nervous because of his large form but her aura calmed me. I could sense her power. She was a witch like me.
"Hello. I'm Alpha Quinn and this is my mate Luna Divine. You told my warrior you have information for me?" The man said.
"Hello Alpha Quinn. I am here to let you know that the prophecy has began and the girl from the prophecy is in danger."
"What do you mean by that?" he asked me. "We haven't found the one from the prophecy."
"You may not have found her but she is alive and has already began making thr prophecy come to life. I was sent here to find her and kill her but that isn't what I want to do," I told him. I decided to be completely honest about everything. I knew if I told the truth, my chances of being trusted and getting help would increase. I could sense his Luna's peaceful aura and I could tell that I could trust her. I pulled out the potion vial my mother gave me and showed it to them. "I was supposed to take this before coming here to trick you into thinking I was a wolf. As you can see, I didn't take it. You can have your witches test it. I'm not a bad witch and don't want to follow in my mother's footsteps. I don't want to harm anyone. I don't want to be so obsessed wit making sure a prophecy doesn't come to pass. I just want to live a regular life."
He looked at me for a moment in deep thought. I could tell he was thinking about whether he could trust me. Unexpectedly, his Luna came closer to me and put her hands up to my head. "May I?" she asked. "I'm just going to take a quick look into your memories. It won't hurt." I nodded giving her the ok. This was even better. Now they would know I meant no harm. I bet mother wasn't expecting this.
She placed her fingertips on my temples and closed her eyes. "Just relax," she told me. I closed my eyes and let my body relax. I could see my memories passing through my mind before stopping at my most recent memories with my mother. I watched as we argued. I watched as I cried alone silently. Then I watched as she told me about her plan to kill the girl from the prophecy, ?The memories went on for a few more minutes before she removed her hands.
"She's telling the truth," she told her mate. She have me a look I had never seen before. She pulled me over to a sofa and sat down beside me.
"What do you know about the prophecy?" Alpha Quinn asked.
"Not much really," I told him. The women in my family has been passing down information of the prophecy for a very long time. My mother told me that one of her great grandparents cast a curse on your family because her sister stole her mate. She said making your family suffer was the revenge she chose. She said the prophecy is the only thing that will end the curse and we had to make sure it didn't come to pass. I always thought there was more to the story but I don't even think she knows the full story, only what's been told to her."
He began to tell me the story of how the prophecy began. I came to realize that everything my mother has told me of what happened to her family was a lie.
"My mother told me that Mariana's sister Celeste stole her mate and that's why the curse was made. I always felt like casting a curse on the whole family was a bit much. She's been obsessed with the prophecy for so long and has been keeping track of your family. I never thought she would want me to come kill anyone."
"Why would you risk your safety to betray your mother?" Alpha Quinn asked.
"She killed my father and took me. I don't share her beliefs. I took a big chance coming here to tell you the truth. You could have killed me instead of believing me."
"What do you hope to gain?" He asked me.
"All I ask for is protection from my mother. I want to be completely free of her."
He thought about it for a minute before his Luna nudged him. "We will protect you. Is there anything else I should know?"
"She doesn't know who the girl from the prophecy is. She doesn't know how she looks. That's why I was sent here."
"So that gives us time to come up with a plan before she realizes that you didn't go through with her plan." He stood up and walked to the door. "Come on, I there's a meeting that I thing you should be involved in."
