‘The doctor may be crazy, but she wasn’t wrong when she said we can’t afford a lawyer,’ said Daniel. ‘Or about contacting the media. I can just imagine the kind of frenzy it would create if word got out about Angel and Celeste and the things they can do. Any chance of a normal life would be dead and buried, even if we did manage to get the estate shut down and the doctor discredited. We have to figure out a way of stopping her that doesn’t require us going public.’
I shuddered at the images his words created in my mind, of Angel and me being hounded by the media, people wanting us to show them our powers, or hating us for having them. Daniel was right. Going public was not an option.
