Chapter 12

1129 Words
Adriano “It's going to be three weeks tomorrow that she’s been gone!  I don't care how you get your information...Find her!” Screamed Adriano at his men.  He had been on a rampage tracking down every lead to try and find Mayah. He convinced Roach to let him question the girls manager, Jason.  Upon questioning him, he learned that Jason and Jackson were cousins and that Jason asked for Jackson’s help to pay off to Kace’s father. He was able to trace Jackson’s movements by tracking his cell phone before it was either switched off or destroyed.  “We have a general area of where we think she is but we have to narrow it down.”  Adriano heard Kace say from behind him. He turned to Kace before shooting an angry glare at Roach.  “Are you f*****g serious? Why is he here?” “We need all the help we can get,” responded Roach. “He’s helped enough.”  Adriano openly blamed Kace for Mayah’s disappearance.   “Adriano, look man.  I know you don't like me and I know I mess-” “You're right.  I don't like you.” Adriano spat cutting him off.  “I didn't like you before I knew you couldn't keep your lips and your hands to yourself but now…”  he paused. “You all but served them up an a platter!” He screamed. “Where were you when Krista was in the hospital for a week?  Was your pay off worth it? Was it worth Krista’s health? Or Mayah’s freedom? God only knows what he’s doing to her.” Adriano tried not to think about the detailed stories that Krista and Mayah had shared with them about the torture they endured.    Roach placed a hand on Adriano’s arm in an attempt to calm him.  He blamed Kace too for his negligence that lead to Krista’s attack and Mayah’s disappearance.  “We aren't going to find her yelling at each other. Let's find her and bring her home. I don't give a s**t what you do after she’s back home.” Kace hung his head.  He knew everyone blamed him and he blamed himself.  “All I want to do is help find her and bring her home.”  His voice was low and apologetic. He held his hands up in defeat.   Adriano let out a frustrated growl as he turned away from him plopping down in a chair.  “Times running out.”    “What are you talking about?” questioned Roach. “My  brother caught wind of a rumor that Marco moved up the wedding.” Kace felt all the color drain from his face.  “To when?”   “Three weeks.  We all know that if Mayah doesn't want to marry him and if she hasn't run its because something happened and she cant.”   “Okay, we find where he’s keeping her and go get her..and make sure no one’s around to come after her again.”   Kace pulled out his gun and put it on the table. “Now that we have the general location, it shouldn't be too hard to find her.” Roach shook his head.  “He’d probably be expecting us to show up and do something like that...we need to be smart about this.  We won't be able to surprise him twice.” “Then we show up when he least expects it,” offered Adriano with a grin.  “We crash the wedding.” He pulled out his phone to dial his brother. “Hermano, I need you to do me a favor.  I need a wedding invite.”  ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Mayah Mayah walked out of her bathroom to grab the dress Marco had picked out for her the night before.  Heading back to the bathroom she stopped in front of the mirror and turned to the side. Mayah grimaced at the sight of her healing scars on her back before she slid on the open backed  black and silver cocktail dress.     “Carino, it's time to leave.”  called Marco from outside the bathroom door. Mayah took a deep breath and opened the door.  Today Marco was planning their engagement party since the first one resulted in a police raid with her getting shot and him going to jail.  She reached for her sweater as he led her out of the room   “That dress fits you perfectly,” he purred in her hair.  “Don't hide it. Leave the sweater.” She obediently obeyed and silently followed him to the reception hall with her arms crossed over her chest.  Mayah was already self conscious of the scars on her arms and legs from her previous punishments but they were nothing compared to the hideous scars on her back.   She fought back a wave a tears as they passed through the doors. She wanted so much to try to run away again but was afraid that the next time she tried to escape, he might just kill her.  Fidgeting with the new engagement ring Marco bought for her, she closed her eyes to take a deep breath. She looked around to see hoping to see if anyone came to her rescue.   “I’m looking for them too,” Marco said to her.  “I expected your adoptive family and your so called boyfriend to show up again but I see they got the message that you are where you belong.”  Mayah’s heart sank as she wiped a tear that managed to escape her eye.  No one was coming for her. She was going to have to marry the man that killed her parents.   “Don't be sad Carino, its for the best.”  He pulled her onto his lap and began to trace the scars from the whip on her back.  Sensing her tense at his touch, he leaned forward to whisper in her ear. “You will learn to love my touch.” he cooed in her ear before kissing the back of her neck and shoulder. She shuddered in disgust.  She despised the feeling of him but didn't dare protest or pull away.  Mayah closed her eyes and thought back to her friends and family. To Krista, Roach and the rest of the Devils Angels.  She thought back to Adriano and his tender kisses to her forehead. Her freedom was short lived but at least she had the opportunity to experience what true love felt like.  Mayah just wished she could have had the opportunity to say goodbye.
