Marriage proposal

"Mr. and Mrs. Morgan told Evelyn that she could go inside, but they didn't want her to call them her parents. Evelyn went to her room and sat down beside the window. Maya saw her alone and thought of cheering her up. She asked Evelyn to tell her about her prince charming. Evelyn smiled and said that he wasn't a prince charming.

They met coincidentally, and their actions were based on alcohol. Maya asked Evelyn to tell her more about him, but Evelyn didn't know much. The only thing she could remember was that he told her that she didn't know who she was messing with and that he was the rockstar, Liam Marcus.

"Evelyn, it was a rockstar you had a one-night stand with," Maya exclaimed excitedly. "My sister is going to be a rockstar too!"

"Maya, please keep quiet. This situation is serious; it's not a joke. Our parents have given me a condition for agreeing to the marriage proposal: either I marry that rockstar or leave this house.

An hour later, the Marcus family arrived at the Morgan's apartment. Liam's sister expressed disdain, labeling the environment as poor and dirty, asserting that only trash resides there. Mrs. Morgan quickly silenced her, reminding her not to judge people based on their living conditions.

As they strolled, an unfortunate mishap occurred. Liam's sister, Lilian, stumbled into the mud, exclaiming, "Oh no! I can't stand this atmosphere! My expensive dress is ruined, and now I look as dirty as the people in this society." Her rant fell on deaf ears as everyone from the Morgan family chose to ignore her entirely.

Evelyn was surprised to hear a knock on the door. When she asked who it was, Mrs. Marcus replied that it was Liam's family. Evelyn was shocked to hear this as she didn't expect Liam to come back after their argument at the hotel. She called out to her mom and dad about the Marcus family's arrival.

Her father reminded her that declining a marriage proposal meant losing her parents and being ousted from the house. Concerned, Evelyn had no choice but to prepare for Liam's family. Miss Morgan opened the door and greeted them politely, inviting them inside.

As Liam's family inspected the house, Lilian asked about the air conditioner. Mrs

Morgan apologized, explaining they didn't have one. Lilian was astonished, questioning how they coped without it. Mr. Marcus intervened, apologizing for Lilian's reaction and clarifying that it wasn't the norm.

Mr. Marcus explained they came due to the recent incident, expressing concern about Evelyn living in such a society. They requested Evelyn's hand in marriage, leaving both Liam and Evelyn stunned as they exchanged surprised glances.

"Mr. and Mrs. Marcus asked Evelyn to introduce herself. She said, 'I'm Evelyn Morgan, and I'm 23 years old. I studied nursing in college and graduated with first-class honors. I haven't found a job yet, but I'm searching for one. With the news being blown up, I'm sure no one can offer me a job.' Mrs. Marcus replied, 'Oh my dear, you don't have to worry about a job.

We are wealthy enough to take care of your needs, and I'm sure you're going to be happy in this marriage. My son can be arrogant and cold-hearted, but trust me, he is very kind, trustworthy, and fulfills his responsibilities.' Evelyn looked surprised that his mother described Liam like that because the one she knew was different from the one she was describing.

Could he be a two-faced human being? She muttered to herself. 'My son, I'm sure that you're going to take care of my daughter, and I'm handing this full responsibility to you because I believe in you.

Evelyn might not have a loving relationship. It could be an arranged marriage, but it's always right to make her happy in the relationship. She's a well-trained girl,' Evelyn's mother said. 'Well-trained my foot’Liam murmured.

Mrs. Marcus expressed gratitude for their consent, bidding farewell, "Thanks for your approval. We appreciate it. We are going to take our leave now. Have a great day, my dear Evelyn."

As they left, Lilian whispered, "Thank God I can leave this dirty environment now." The air was filled with a mix of relief, uncertainty, and the weight of the upcoming engagement, marking the beginning of a new chapter for Liam and Evelyn.
