I just couldn't believe my ears as I sat in the hospital room, surrounded by the familiar beeping of machines and the antiseptic smell that seemed to cling to every surface. But none of that mattered now, because the doctor's words were music to my ears.
"Lucy, you'd be discharged sooner, since you're in a very good health condition," he said, a warm smile spreading across his face which also played on mine.
I felt a quick surge of excitement and relief wash over me, and I couldn't help but smile back at the doctor due to his interesting words. Ivy and Daniel, who were sitting on either side of me, exchanged a look of support and encouragement, their facial expressions a testament to the fact that they had been with me every step of the way.
