Another cup of blue mountain tea was placed before Ethan Luo. As he looked at Adeline, he realized she was much more beautiful than he imagined. Her pictures were an understatement of how pleasant she looked.

However, he was curious as to what made her agree to this blind date and their arranged marriage as the candidate could always be changed.

She looked more innocent than he presumed and again he wondered if she could face the tribulations of the Luo family. He needed a wife but not one who was weak and could easily be bullied.

“Adeline King”, he called her and she finally looked at his face. “gosh” she screamed repeatedly in her mind gushing at his beautiful face. “he looked like those pretty boys from K drama” she thought again. “I am sure you have been told the terms of this marriage”, Ethan Luo finally said.

Adeline gasped when she heard him. He was as arrogant as the rumors she heard. Ethan Luo was the young master of the Luo family and the next patriarch.

The Luo family span from generations to generations and over the years, have acquired enormous wealth all over the world.

Urosayiia’a was the Luo family’s turf with over one thousand establishment globally.

According to the rumors, the Luo family and Yang entered into a marriage relationship centuries ago and every daughter of the Yang family who entered the Luo family died within the first five years of marriage.

The Luo family was a patriarchal family and therefore daughters of the Yang family could not survive there as the Yang family daughters were all fierce and proud.

They could not put up with the overbearing attitude of their husbands and slowly fell into depression and died.

Because of this, Beatrice King, Adeline’s mother ran away from home when it was her turn to be married off and married a*****e manager. Her ideas and innovation led to the present day King’s enterprise.

The daughters of the Yang family were well versed in the three arts of calligraphy; go, quqin and Chinese painting and Beatrice, trained her daughters in these three arts as she knew one of her daughters will bear the brunt.

Nonetheless, she never expected it to be Adeline as Adeline had always hidden her true strength so Beatrice couldn’t estimate it. Also, since Adeline looked more like a Yang than a king, it was bound to happen.

When Beatrice King ran away from her arranged marriage, the burden fell on her sister Kelly Yang who died shortly after she married into the Luo family.

The reason was unknown as both families decided to act mute. However it was prophesied that the last descendants of the Yang family could end the tragedy of the Luo family and this happens to be either Adeline or Madeleine.

Consequently, Beatrice believed it was Adeline the prophecy was referring to and therefore she protected her daughter in the way she can by making Adeline less attractive and often time changing the color of her hair to blonde.

Nevertheless, her efforts were all futile as a year ago she received an envelope and in it was several pictures of Adeline King and a picture of the century old contract between the two families.

She was so scared that she sent Adeline overseas where the Luo family had less influence.

Interestingly, who would have thought that Adeline would fall in love with Aiden Smith and secretly return to the country without Beatrice’s knowledge.

When Beatrice found out it was already too late as Madeleine had secretly hooked up with Aiden Smith behind her sister.

Coupled with The King’s enterprises public announcement on Adeline’s disinheritance, Beatrice king had no choice than to send her daughter to the lion’s den.

She hoped that the Shaman’s prophecy was right and perhaps her daughter would cause the downfall of the Luo family.

Back to the present, Adeline king gasped as she heard Ethan’s statement. “the terms of the contract “ she muttered trying to recall and she finally remembered that this was sent to her when she first arrived but she ignored it as she preferred physical communication more to electronic communication.

Ethan Luo watched her every reaction and finally realized that she did not read it. He was angry and wanted to put an end to their date but he remembered that she was the only Yang Left.

Although he knew she had a sister, Madeleine King, he preferred the feisty and rebellious Adeline as to the pretentious Madeleine and once more, Adeline looked more like a Yang when compared to her sister.

Secondly, although such prophecy were farfetched, his grandfather the current patriarch believed In it strongly, so Ethan Luo had to marry from the Yang family. “my assistant will send you a revised version of the contract”, Ethan Luo said taking a sip of his blue mountain tea.

As Adeline king, she wondered if the Luo family was as powerful as the rumors portrayed it. Each member of the Luo family held government positions and were giants in every field.

However, despite how powerful they are, they are quite pitiful as the family had a curse.

The Luo family always buried a son every year and this curse got outrageous when her aunt, Kelly Yang died barely a year after being married to the Luo family. It was said that Kelly Yang’s spirit roamed in the Luo family therefore leading to the lack of Yang energy in the family.

Ethan Luo was the only one in his generation who had lived up to thirty as the rest were dead. The youngest in the Luo family was currently twenty and this was why the Luo family was anxious to find the last remaining Yang member who was pure and fierce.

However, Adeline had to admit that the Luo family had beautiful gene as she stared at Ethan Luo who seem to have walked out of a sculpture.

His skin was flawless, his thin lips perfectly placed on his face. His nose was high bridged and his brows were jet like. It looked like those ancient martial artist.
