The Wedding Surprise

2227 Words
The kingdom rejoiced when the queen gave birth to her, for she was such a pretty little babe- The Ice Queen Apryl's wedding. My birthday. Our birthday. I giggled at her sleeping face and flicked her nose in amusement. Since when did Apryl ever sleep in? But well, after we made sure the venue was well decorated and after we had a tiresome girl night which included me interrupting her disgusting phone s*x with Valerian, I wasn't surprised My ears still burn when I remember the look on her face. "Happy birthday" I laughed, standing up and flexing my muscles. "You told me that last night" she yawned, sitting up. "This morning" I corrected, waltzing to the bathroom. I was already done brushing my teeth and my lazy twin still wasn't awake. "Apryl?" I called out, poking my head into the room. "Holy s**t I'm getting married today!" She squealed, earning an eye roll from me. "And yet you don't have a boyfriend yet. What are you a nun?" She snorted rudely, zipping towards the bathroom with her Night blood speed. Our family was really weird. Our eldest sister was mated to an Alpha who had turned her into a werewolf, Apryl was a Night blood and host while I was a witch. Stefani and Mason were the only ones who had a different path which was completely ordinary. "I'm not a nun. I'm too busy" I argued, stripping my clothes and jumping into the shower. "Too busy and you sleep in four times a week? Sure babe" She rolled her eyes. "Can you not b***h at me and get ready? The Make up artist is coming in forty" I snapped at her. We showered and wrapped our robes around our bodies, waiting for the make up artist to come. Poor Apryl. She's still fuming about how Valerian and our whole extended family ganged up against her and made her go overboard with the wedding when she wanted to have a simple one. The fact dad and Valerian are like best friends presently is still beyond me. When Apryl had introduced Valerian to dad he practically hated his guts. What's worst, dad caught Valerian and her smooching in the kitchen and almost shot Valerian with a gun. But now, they're just very close. "So it's literally Mason and I that are left to get married" I scowled playfully at Apryl who was getting her make up done. "You wouldn't get married if you don't start hooking up with those sexy models and actors after you" she chirped, ignoring my glower. See I love Apryl, but sometimes she can be such an annoying b***h. "I don't want to get married" I growled lowly, my powers threatening to go haywire with the way the lights were twitching. Apryl eyed me warily from the mirror, knowing she was stepping on dangerous territory. "Okay Kitten" she rolled her eyes, apprehension clearly written all over her face. Nevertheless, she was still going to try and annoy me. "But I have a single hot friend. He's not like those models and he's a pretty good friend of Valerian. Too bad he's an ancient dragon" she pressed on, trying to rile me up. Sweet sweet sister. I knew the particular dragon she was talking of. And I definitely didn't want to get involved with a royal blood. Apryl didn't understand that the people with the dirtiest hands were the royals. Valerian managed to be good and exempt himself from doing some things but yet, he still had dirt on his hands. The Kristiàns who I loved immensely still had blood on their hands despite the amazing people they were. Erik Drago wasn't an exception. What was worst is that he was a dangerous selfish bastard that put a lot of lives at risk. He had kicked out a lot of innocent people from their houses and left them poor, homeless and hungry. A dragon breathes fire, but his kind of fire has wiped out a lot of beings. And he didn't feel bad about it. In fact, he loved what he did. Erik was called the destroyer and he managed to live up to his horrible nickname. The royal bloods of Supernatural races were smart, filtering into human society and becoming royals in it so it would be easier to cover up their tracks. They didn't consider that for every action there was an equal and opposite reaction. That reaction was going to ruin them completely and I didn't want to be a part of the royals when it happened. So God forbid that I cross parts with King Erik. "If he comes near me I'll chop off his ancient wrinkled d**k" I grinned, meaning every single word I spewed. The make up artist cringed and so did the bride to be. "God Retplang" she rolled her eyes in disgust while I grinned once more. Soon, her makeup was done and it was time for her to pull on her wedding dress she'd spent a lot of money on. I was still getting prepared by the make up artist while some of her maids donned on her dress but I still tried to sneak glances at her. "Wow" I breathed, staring at her through the mirror. She looked every bit the celebrant of the day, a goddess in the flesh. She was like the processed and beautiful version of me while I was like a wild berry in the forest. "Please don't make me cry" I fanned my face sniffing. "I'm so jealous of you but remembering I don't want to get married makes me feel hetter" I laughed. But did it? "You're so awkward" She snorted in amusement. "Jeez I love you too" I muttered, admiring my finished face and putting the clasp on my heels. I turned around and looked at a nervous Apryl, her eyes looking every bit uneasy. "Oh God, what if Valerian leaves me on the altar? What if he says I don't? What if he tells me he was never in love with me and it was all a façade so I could be his queen and so we-" Wait, what the hell? "Jesus Apryl what are you saying?" I shrieked, my eyes wide. "I- s**t did you just hear me?" She widened her eyes. I gave a disbelieving look and rolled my eyes condescendingly. "When you were saying it out loud of course I'd hear you" I scoffed. I furrowed my eyebrows at her, wondering where all those horrid thoughts were coming from before my eyes widened and my mouth made a small 'O' in realization. "Cold feet isn't it?" I said knowingly, a smile stretching across my face. "How didn't you get it back at your other wedding in Kano?" I wondered. "Probably because father was there and he'd skin Valerian if he tried that" she sighed. True that. I walked towards her, held her shoulders and looked deep into her hazel eyes. "You Love Valerian just as much as he loves you. When you look into his loving and warm gaze, all your doubts will go away. Trust me sis" I reassured her. She smiled at me, a convinced expression overriding the once worried one. "I guess you're right. Now step away from my wedding dress" she rolled her eyes playfully. "You're such an ungrateful b***h" I rolled my eyes. Our Limousine arrived and we climbed into it, excited for Apryl's wedding. I was so glad for her because the once troubled and depressed girl was happy. Apryl had been through a lot and Valerian seemed to be the best thing that has ever happened to her. When we arrived the church, Apryl was the centre of attention while I was casted to the shadows. But I understood because today was mostly her day. I found my family and Johan who wished me happy birthday and promised me a wonderful after party. I didn't really care it was my birthday because seeing Apryl so happy was enough for me. Once she saw Valerian, all the worry lines on her face cleared and she smiled at him shyly, tears streaming down her eyes. I smiled at the love they shared when they said their vows, the look of pure joy on their faces so contagious. But as I smiled, my chest constricted and I frowned, putting my hand over it. There was a hollow ache there and somehow it couldn't stop no matter how many times I breathed in and out. Then reality dawned on me, slapping me across my face as hard as my fake mother did. My mate had rejected me. I was all alone. ★★★★★★★★★★★★★★★★★★★★★ Erik tried to wipe off the frown on his face as he made it to the wedding venue. That stupid oracle refused to tell him anything about his mate. His dragon stirred as soon as he entered the ostentatiously decorated wedding hall and Erik frowned wondering why his dragon was becoming restless. She's here, his dragon growled lowly. Who's here? Erik asked in confusion. Let me find out human. And with that, his dragon was going back into his head. The dragon was still restless and he frowned, hoping his beast would calm down. "You're late" Valerian deadpanned, glaring at him. "I'm sorry. I had an urgent meeting to attend to. Congratulations by the way, I still can't believe you guys finally made up" Erik said sincerely at his friend. "I can do anything" Valerian boasted, a proud smile on his face. "Yeah. Pigs can fly" Erik snorted rudely, annoying his friend. Valerian narrowed his eyes at Erik and for a small moment, he was scared that Valerian had figured Erik was having wet dreams about sleeping with his own bride. "I haven't seen Prima Apryl ever since I got here. Where is she?" Erik asked, masking his uneasiness from Valerian. "You arrived here only few minutes ago" Valerian deadpanned, earning an eye roll from Erik. "Get over yourself kid" Speaking of kids, Alpha King Nick was making his way towards them and because he wasn't ready to face a series of questions and definitely didn't want Nick begging him for a pet dragon, he smiled politely at Valerian and disappeared in the crowd, searching for the bride. He heaved a sigh of relief as soon as he saw the chirpy young bride dancing and walked towards her, a smile on his face. "Hey oldie" she laughed, wrapping her hands around him. "I thought you weren't going to make it" Erik smiled at the happy bride and shook his head, clearly amused. "Your husband would have my head if I didn't show" he explained. "And he's probably still pissed I wasn't at the cathedral. That dramatic kid" he laughed. "Just because you're probably over a thousand years old doesn't mean everyone is a kid" she stuck out her tongue childishly. Erik paused as the smell of Vanilla and Citrus hit him, clouding his senses and making his dragon go haywire. Who the hell had such an amazing scent? Did the person know that Vanilla and citrus was actually such a good combo and was taunting him? Erik's eyes combed the crowd, ignoring the other scents in the hall. He searched for the one, for the person that was responsible for his restlessness and lack of peace of mind. Then his eyes narrowed at a figure backing him, clad in a white gown. His eyes followed the seductive sway of her hips, watched that curvy ass and hips that made his d**k twitch. Her ass was so round and perfect he wanted to feel it in his hands, bend it over and make sure it was grinding on his raging hard on. Then spank it and turn it red. His dragon was chanting something but he couldn't listen as his eyes f****d that sexy ass. Such pretty golden brown skin..... "Who's that" Erik looked over Apryl's shoulder, clearly intrigued by who that seductress was. "My pregnant sister?" Apryl asked, gesturing towards some American Alpha and his Luna. He almost growled at the Prima. How could she not notice that sexy woman in that body fitting white dress? The woman turned around and he was able to get her profile and f**k it if he didn't think she looked like the bride. Save for some sexy mole above her full plump lips. "No not her. The one that looks like you" he said urgently. "Oh that's my twin. Why?" She asked in confusion. Erik glanced over her blank expression and decided he wasn't even sure why he was f*****g her with his eyes. "Just wondering how anyone could look exactly like you, except for a mole" he shrugged, trying not to look suspicious. But if Apryl was paying any attention to his aroused state, she would have known he was lying. "Should I introduce you?" She asked him. Was that supposed to be a question? "Yeah" he smiled at her. They walked over to the golden beauty and his dragon kept on chanting, snapping and growling, seriously begging Erik to be let out. We're in public Hadrian, you need to chill out. Why should I chill out when that beauty is mine?!
