The Agreement

Karen and Celine sat down watching Doc Alain finish his food, Celine took away the plate after he was done.
Rubbing his stomach "it has been a while since I ate such delicious food" Doc Alain said
"Doc Alain so what should we do with the guy, how is he by the way " Karen brought back the pressing issue.
"he hurts his head badly, he is still unconscious and it will take a day or two for him to come out of it but he doesn't have any other serious injury, lucky him. " doc Alain replied
" What about taking him to town to get proper care ...at least they will have better equipment there" Karen was still talking when Celine walked in and quickly interrupted
"no we can't send him to town... " she says, Doc Alain and Karen looked at her at the same time making her purse a little but still continue. " yes, we don't know who he is, what's his name, but we do know he should be from the city right, ..." Doc Alain and Karen both affirm it , so Celine continues" we saw him at the river and that river comes from the mountain, it passes through the mountain road leading to the city, so I think he should have been in an accident or someone is trying to... U know... maybe kill him "
The two people were shocked
" it is possible for him to be in an accident,so we need to take him to town to look for his family " Karen says and Doc Alain agrees
" but we can't move him by ourselves now unless an ambulance comes to pick him up which will attract the villagers attention " Doc Alain adds
" so when can we move him" Karen asked Doc Alain
" after he wakes up we can sneak him out of the village to avoid making a scene and have to explain it to William ( the village head)." Doc Alain replies.
they started planning, completely leaving Celine out of the matter.
" we can also go to town to ask around for his family that will even be better, they can come and take him themselves when we find them" Karen adds
" yes that is a good suggestion" doc Alain says while pondering...
"Guys calm down" Celine says trying to get their attention. they looked at her, seeing she has their attention she brings her opinion to the table " it rain the night before seeing this guy, not an ordinary rain a heavy one close to a storm and there have been announcements about it days before it rain so everyone already knew not to go out that day and most especially not to use the mountain road to or from the city, so who in their right mind will go out that day, I'm thinking we shouldn't asked around for his family but let him wake up to ask questions, and also the clothes he was in seems like house clothes not the one used for outing who will go out in their house wear in a stormy night on a dangerous road?"
"that seems to be a logical reasoning " ponder Doc Alain
"I think she reads too many novels it is eating her reasonings " Karen jest while rolling her eyes
"so we will still have to wait for him to wake up to tell us where he is from and what happened " Doc Alain says, "do we agree?" he asks, particularly looking at Karen
" I just think we shouldn't shoulder this..." Karen stopped what she was saying seeing both Doc Alain and Celine staring at her " well..., fine we will wait for him to wake up before taking any steps. but before that we need to keep it a secret form the villagers , you guys know these people can be extreme... I just want to protect Celine... she stopped and looked down both Celine and doc Alain also looked down, there was suddenly silence in the room.
" I will be fine mum and will not disappoint you" Celine told her mother and hug her.
" so how will we take care of him now, Martin can do the odd jobs but he is bad at cooking and I can let this guy have my bed but I need some sort of compensation for sleeping on the couch... " Doc Alain says with shinning eyes.
" well, Celine and I can do the cooking, we will bring it for you guys and also... " she reach her hands into her bag and bring some money out giving it to Doc Alain "we may need to buy some medicine for him and also pay Martin for his hardwork of taking care of him " Karen says.
"Keep the money Karen, you need it more, Celine school is resuming soon and she is in her final year of high school she needs the money for books and some other stuff " doc Alain says while waving his hands to reject the money" just do the cooking that is all".
" alright thank you doc Alain, sorry for the trouble " Karen says while looking at Celine
" thank you doc Alain, please take good care of him" smile Celine as she thanks doc Alain
Karen rolling her eyes at Celine while Doc Alain was thinking... (1)
Celine went to look at the guy before leaving with her mother " oh, right I brought some chicken soup for him, I guess he can't have it so doc Alain you can have it" smiling she run after her mother

One week before school resumes.
Celine always goes with her mother to work, Karen has a shop where she designs and sews clothes for people both in the village, the neighbouring village and also in town, Celine helps her mother in sewing too and she is very good at sewing and designing in particular, people love her work.
The next day Karen wakes up very early to make food for her and Celine, as well as doc Alain, as promised and Celine volunteer to deliver the food to doc Alain's house before going to Karen's shop. Karen agreed because she has lots to do in the shop. she left to the shop while Celine went to Doc Alain's house happily.
when she got there she met Martin at the front yard doing his business, He had swept the compound and was washing herbs when he raised up his head and saw Celine coming he smiled unknowingly.
" good morning Martin" Celine greeted him
" lovely morning Celine" he answered back with a little blush that both of them did not realise...
