NOEL'S POV
I was in the ballroom practicing my ballet with the rest of class when one of the maids called out to me.
"My lady, a boy gave me this letter when I went to buy groceries from the market, he said it was for you.".
"A letter for me? Are you sure it's not for my father?" I asked.
"No my lady, he told me that his master told him to give the letter to you and no one else." she replied.
"Alright then you can take it to my room." I said.
"Who would write me a letter that no one else is allowed to read?" I thought to myself, "I hope I'm not in some sort of trouble.".
"Noel, we won't be waiting for you forever." shouted the Russian tutor.
"I'm coming sir." I said as I ran back to the ballroom.
After the ballet session, I went to meet my father in the library. The library door was closed as usual. I held the doorknob and turned it slowly till it clicked open. My father was sitting on his small table looking at some files with his back facing the door. I crept up to him and before I could surprise him he spoke
"Noel I may be old but my senses are still intact, what is it that you want.".
"Who told you that you are old your grace?" I asked playfully.
Ever since I was a child I preferred calling my father "your grace" instead of just father. People who didn't know how close we were would think that we had family problems, but my father would never mind, he knew just how much I loved him and he always loved it when I called him by his title the way others did.
"You're touching my gray hair and still trying to convince me about my youth," he continued, "I'm sorry darling but as you can see I have a whole lot of work to do so please don't disturb me at least for now.".
"You see father," I mumbled trying to find a way to arrange my words, "I saw this dress in the....
"There's some money in my drawer, it's all yours." he interrupted not allowing me to finish.
"Thank you so much father, that's why I love you." I said as I kissed him in the forehead.
"That's okay darling please allow me to finish my work, and don't forget to get me something on the way.".
I took a ride in the carriage to the mall to shop for some new dresses and shoes. Ever since I was a child I always loved the idea of going to the small, there I would meet so many people and get a chance to hear the latest gossip in town.
"Good morning my lady, it's nice to see you after a while." the shop keeper said.
"It's nice to see you too miss Agatha." I replied.
"We have a some beautiful new collections my lady, silk from the Ottoman empire, linen from Burgundian Netherlands and well as the best diamond collections from the Russian empire." she said.
"I want to see of them miss Agatha." I said excitingly.
"In that case, this way my lady.".
I followed her to another room in the mall where I saw the most beautiful dresses and jewellery ever.
"Wow, miss Agatha I have to admit those are really beautiful dresses, I can't wait to try them on." I exclaimed.
After spending almost an hour trying on every dress that caught that fancy, I had finally decided on what to choose. I showed the shop keeper every dress and jewellery I wanted to buy.
"I'll take this, and this, and this, and those two over there and the solitaire set." I said trying to show her every item I planned on getting.
"I think that's all my lady, I'll have them delivered to the manor as soon as possible." she said.
"That would be very much appreciated dearest miss Agatha." I replied.
When I finally got home it was time for luncheon, so right away I sat at the table.
"How was your day darling, I hope you weren't a problem for dearest Agatha?" he asked.
When have I ever been a problem your grace?" I replied.
"You want me to talk?" he chuckled, "darling let's not go there, we will be arguing till sunset."
"Oh father stop teasing me" I said, "Mom please tell "his grace" to stop.
"Your father's right Noel, you can be a handful." said mother.
"Mom, you too? I thought you would support me at least."
"I always support you dear, but the truth must be spoken." she joked
After lunch I went to my room, I was tired from the trip to the mall. As I was just about to lie on the bed I found the letter from the morning.
"Oh my, I totally forgot about this." I said to myself.
I tore the envelop open and pulled out the letter. It read;
It's difficult not to get lost in your eyes. Since the night I first saw you under that beautiful sky where the stars had shown their light upon your face.
The midnight sun.
I lost control of my senses after I finished reading the letter. I didn't know what to make of it. I wanted to tell my father about it but I immediately decided against it because deep down I wanted to know who sent me the letter.
"It must be a prank." I thought to myself.
I read the letter one last time, this time there was something that caught my attention.
"The midnight sun? but who could this person be.".
