"Come on, you've gotta give me something, Kris." Lexi pleaded obstinately as they stepped out of a restaurant. "You checked us out of the hotel, and now you've made us order takeout instead of just eating in the restaurant. What is going on?"
Kris smiled at the look of innocent curiosity in her eyes. What he hadn't told her was that he'd gone grocery shopping in the afternoon when he'd forced her to review the reports he'd been given at Reynolds and Associations, New Jersey branch, and he'd already brought the items to where he intended for them to spend the rest of the trip.
