Chapter 5

KIARA'S POV “Why are you screaming?” She asked, looking at me weirdly as she balanced the car. I noticed that the words I heard were my callertune, I couldn't hide my embarrassment as I flushed red. “Nothing, I was just scared.” I said, and she looked at me once more looking back shaking her head. “You might not trust me but I won't do anything and you have to know that. I'm on your side and Zarek isn't as bad as you…” She stopped, as we had gotten to the airport. “He's not a bad man like you think, and I want you to know that. But I won't tell him I saw you but he will know.” “I don't care. I hate him and he should stay away from me.” I said, running out of the cab. She didn't follow me which I was grateful for but I had to get new clothes and a traveling bag so I won't look suspicious. “Your passport ma'am.” The gentle and sweet voice of the staff brought me back to life. I gave it to her and boarded the plane. Twelve hours later I was at Sara's address knocking on her door. She opened the door hugging me immediately and the tears I was holding in the plane ran down my cheeks. “I'm so sorry for letting you go through all that, I'm really and I know I haven't been a good friend.” She said, pulling me inside. “Can I get water to drink? I'm really thirsty and I need to wet my throat.” I asked, she rushed out immediately and returned seconds later with a bottle of water. “Thank you.” I said, gulping down the water as I couldn't help but feel like drowning myself to erase his marks on my body. “I feel disgusted and used.” Sara's comforting hands never left me. “It's fine. It wasn't your fault that you got r***d, but I promise you won't suffer that anymore not while I'm alive.” “I want to sleep now, can I?” I asked, getting up slowly. “Yes but you will stay in my room so I can monitor you. I don't want you to do something crazy that will break my heart.” I nodded, without arguing with her. I took my bath and laid down, she fell asleep immediately after trying to stay awake all to no avail. I got up and went to her balcony for a moment to relive my stressed body with fresh air. The cold wind blowing my hair across my face, it was doing well in soothing my wrecked self. “Why me? What did I do wrong to deserve all these?” I cried out, falling down to the ground drenching my palms with my tears. I saw something moving behind, exactly the same shape of what I saw in my room the day I got my job at the bar. I look back , wiping my tears as I turn around slowly, so it wouldn't sprang on me unexpectedly. “Well….well. I have finally found you at the right time and place when no one can save you from my wrath.“ Its voice sounded guttural and it was disgusting to hear. “Who are you and what do you want from me?” I asked, moving back so I could alert Sara but he was standing in the way. “I'm what not who. I'm here for your head in this bowl like the master asked for.” It said, coming closer to me and I screamed. Sara ran in hitting a club on its head, it growled angrily. She looked at him squarely frowning her face, she was ready to face the figure not knowing what it was in. “You both will pay for this. “ Sara had already pulled me and we were running out of the house to her car. Two wolves appeared blocking our path and I panicked, I pulled my hands off running out to an unknown destination. It was late and I couldn't see properly and I was falling down repeatedly. “Found you. Don't bother running back because you are surrounded.” It has switched to another body, I took note of that moving back as it walked closer to me. The wolf was huge with black marks all over it's body, making it look gothic but dangerous. “I'm sure you got the wrong person.” I was fling down violently by it. “You made a mistake by coming close to what's mine and I hope you remember that in your grave.” I was stunned, I hated Zarek for what he did to me, but this woman was ready to be him irrespective of that. “I can assure you that I don't want him, take him and I will be the happiest woman on earth.” I said, sobbing into my hands. “And you think I believe you don't want your mate? You are a big joker!” It got closer and stabbed me in my hands, crimson red blood rushing through my hands. “Stop it now. How dare you treat her like that.” A voice said, and we loomed back. I was so relieved to see her. “Andrea stay out of this. This is my business not yours. Don't overstep your boundaries.” The wolf growled, looking at Andrea's approaching body. “Kaira's is my business and I need to keep her safe.” “Fine, keep her safe then.” I could swear I saw a smile, next thing I saw was a dagger piercing my chest. I didn't feel any pain at first but it came in full form and I screamed out. “Save her dead.” The wolf said, and another wolf crept up hitting Andrea with it's paw and she passed out immediately. Zarek ran down and I tried moving away from him but I couldn't move my body. “Please don't leave me. I will correct things…..” I was seeing blurry images and his voice fading till I couldn't hold on anymore. So this is what dying feels like, you floating on an empty space till death pulls you in. Death came for me and I was stupid to let him in.
