I could see the sun rising in the far-off distance. It must have been around 6am but my phone had gone flat. I was fighting sleep. I couldn't close my eyes just in case anything happened.
I heard a gentle knock on the door. I turned to see Aunty Viv was back for the morning.
"My darling, have you slept?" She asked, concerned
I shook my head.
"How about I sit with mum and you go close your eyes."
I stared at Mum and then shook my head again
"It's ok. I will get you if she needs you, but you know very well she would want you looking after yourself. Go lay down. Even for a moment." she said gently.
"I'm laying on this couch though," I replied
"Of course. I'll ask them if they have a spare charger floating around as I'm sure people have tried to contact you to check in, " Viv said
