Nancy spent the day at the palace in a blissful daze. She felt as if she was living in a dream. Ben had just told her that morning that he had decided to stay in Xeronis. When she had heard him say that she had tried hard to hide her excitement.
“Oh, what made you change your mind?” she had asked.
Ben could think of many things.
For starters, Xeronis was fun. This place had magic, awesome gadgets and tech, magnificent creatures for friends that on Earth were considered to be a myth, and even riches. Ben had observed the currency that she carried around like coins and it was actual diamonds. Well, Nancy was rich so no surprise there, but the average commoner could carry around a couple of gold coins.
One could easily make a fortune here and build a life worth living.
