Chapter 5

Harper's Pov

Brayden and I walk up the stairs to Alpha Greys office. For the first time ever Brayden looks nervous to go in. He wasn't even nervous when he 'accidentally' almost burnt the pack house down multiple times. I open the door to see Alpha Grey and 4 Lycans standing the the room. Just as we enter I see the female Lycan look at Brayden and approach him sniffing the air. At the same time Alpha Grey excuses himself and assures he'll be back momentarily.

Brayden's Pov

I'm incredibly nervous to go in. I can smell the scent from the stairs. The scent is hypnotic and I can barely breathe but that's exactly why I'm scared to enter the room. As soon as we enter she locks eyes with mine and walks towards me. She doesn't seem phased Heather is standing right next to me, she can probably sense or see that we are related. She gets uncomfortably close and sniffs and just as she does that Alpha Grey leaves the room leaving me defenceless. The lady whispers into my ear "I'm lilly and you are my mate".

I stand frozen, shock has taken over and I know my sister heard because she's silently giggling most likely at my current frozen state. Then I see her face go blank and I'm assuming exactly the way my face was when I first smelled lilly's scent. Just then the door opens.

Alpha Greys Pov

I didn't want to leave Heather and Brayden in a room of Lycans but I got word the fifth was arriving and it would be rude if I didn't come out considering I asked for there help. I'm shocked however to learn that The King had stepped out. I introduce myself and bow when he puts his hand out as if to stop me and introduces himself as King Matthew. His eyes are scanning where members of my pack were just training moments ago. As I lead him inside to my office I talk about the issue that led me to contacting them. As we reach the top of the stairs he puts a finger up as if for my to be silent. He then takes long fast strides towards the door. I assume he can smell the Lycans in my office. Then he starts to open it.

Heather's pov

My brother is giving me the same look that I can oy assume was the look I gave him outside earlier and I can oy assume I look the same way he did. I freeze and try to make myself look small. As the door opens I'm getting a more intoxicating smell of peppermint and sandalwood. I know what it means and I'm scared to turn around when suddenly I'm lifted of the ground by my hips and spun around only for me to get sniffed and "Mate" said to me in a low growl. I haven't even seen what this person looks like and I don't even know who it is. All I know is it's a Lycan and must be the fifth one that was late.

He lifts me over his shoulder and carries me to the couch and I'm sat down with this Lycan sitting next to me pinning my head forward. I see Brayden and Lilly walk over to sit next to us on the tiny couch. Lilly is a Lycan but is shorter than my brother while all the Lycan males in the room are 7 feet tall or more. I wouldn't know being so short myself but they're taller than Brayden.

King Matthews Pov

I really don't want to be here but the mutilation of the wolf has my attention and figured it'd be better if I came along aswell. My little cousin Lilly only wanted to come to get out of the palace for a while and Max out her credit cards like last time. I pull in behind the cars that arrived before me and am met with Alpha Grey. I heard he has been unmated his whole life. I know how it feels. Lycans can live for centuries and we age very slowly. Lilly for example only looks 18 but is centuries old. Myself on the other hand look 23 but am half a century older than Lilly. We are mated by the moon and finding that mate can take half our lifetime. When I get out of the car I smell Roses and vanilla. A very sweet scent and know that my mate is somewhere around here. Based on the location of the scent she was training but is now gone. I wish I was here to see it. As I make my way through the pack house with Alpha Grey I can smell the scent again coming from the same room my Lycans are in. I open the door gently incase she's behind it and see her back.

She has a messy dark brown ponytail with waves, black shorts, purple training bra and black and white sneakers. From her back I can see all the curves and I'm excited to turn her around. I pick her up from her hips and turn her to face me. I take a quick look at her body and am filled with lust, I sniff her and am certain with every fibre of my being this girl is my mate. Without a second to lose I pick her up over my shoulder and sit her down on the couch, keeping my head on hers so her head is against my chest. I see Lilly with a wolf and am curious as to what she is doing with him.
