SUSPENSION I awoke to the blaring sound of my alarm reverberating throughout the house, signaling the start of another day. Hastily, I prepared breakfast, realizing I had skipped dinner the night before. After fueling up, I donned my work attire and made my way to the office. Arriving at work, I discovered that Mr. Williams had not arrived early, allowing me to simply leave his coffee in his office. As I finished organizing his schedule for the week, he entered the room unexpectedly. "Follow me," he instructed, prompting me to rise and trail behind him obediently. "Good morning, sir," I greeted, though my salutation was met with silence. Seated across from him, I proceeded to outline his meetings for the day, noting his need to reschedule a few due to a visit to his parents. The thought of getting to leave work before the usual time made me feel really relieved. It was like a weight off my shoulders, even though I didn't feel all that excited about my job. People always say you should do what you love, but for me, it was more about just needing to make money to survive.I didn't feel like my job was my passion or anything like that. It was just something I had to do to pay the bills and get by. So, even though I didn't feel all that enthusiastic about it, the idea of being able to leave early still made me feel better. It was like a small break from the daily grind, and I welcomed it with open arms. The day unfolded in a blur, and before I knew it, I found myself back home earlier than usual. Taking advantage of the extra time, I set about tidying my apartment when the doorbell interrupted my solitude. Puzzled, as I wasn't expecting any visitors or deliveries, I cautiously approached the door and swung it open to find a stranger bearing a warm smile. "Hello, I'm Ava. I wanted to apologize for last night and brought a peace offering. May I come in?" she asked politely, catching me off guard with her unexpected presence and gesture of goodwill. Before I could gather my thoughts to respond, she breezed past me and entered the house. Stunned, I remained rooted to the spot by the door. "Come take these off my hands, will you?" she called out, her voice pulling me out of my daze. With a slight shake of my head to clear my confusion, I closed the door and made my way over to her, accepting the tray of pastries she offered with a quiet expression of gratitude. "I'm Josie, thanks for these," I expressed gratefully as I set the pastries down. Taking in the cozy ambiance of my home, she remarked, "Your house looks nice and comfy." "Thank you. If you ever need a hand, especially on weekends, I'm available. Work can be exhausting," I offered, engaging in further conversation. "Where do you work?" she inquired, her curiosity piqued. "StrageiX Marketing Solutions. I'm Noah Williams' PA," I replied proudly. "The Noah Williams, the most eligible bachelor?" she exclaimed excitedly. "He may be good-looking, but trust me, he's the spawn of the devil," I quipped, prompting laughter from her as she eagerly asked for details about his appearance and scent. Our banter quickly cemented a friendship, and before we knew it, the weekend arrived. I headed to Ava's house to assist her in organizing her space, and together, we tackled the tasks efficiently. As we worked, we shared stories and bonded over our shared love for cooking and baking where cooking served as my therapy, baking was her solace. I dreaded the weekdays solely because they meant encountering Noah. If only his outward charm matched his demeanor, perhaps the world would seem a bit brighter. Tales of his ruthless dismissal of assistants lingered in the office gossip, a testament to his intolerance for disorder. Immersing myself in work, I silently prayed for minimal interaction with him today. Struggling through menstrual discomfort, I had little tolerance for his usual attitude. However, feeling my hesitation, he called me to his office, almost like he had some magical power. Sitting in front of him, I couldn't help but notice how impressive he looked his eyebrows perfectly shaped, his skin flawless, his jawline sharp, and his eyes captivating. It was like he had an aura of authority around him, almost like he was a powerful figure, even resembling the devil in some ways. "Ms. Kings, have you been listening to a word I've said?" he snapped, breaking through my reverie with his irritation. “I’m sorry sir” I responded almost immediately. “can I please take the rest of the day off? I feel sick” I pleaded. “it’s fine. Leave”. I thanked him and walked out of the building. I could not believe he actually let me take the day off. This only means that i will have a lot of work to do tomorrow, I really hope i do feel better. I got home and laid down, before i knew it, i woke up and it was almost midnight. I saw a notification on my phone and checked it, “If you do not feel strong enough to come tomorrow, don’t bother showing up. I won’t be in for long. -Mr. Williams”. I was taken back by his message, maybe he is not as bad as we thought. “Thank you for your concern sir. By tomorrow I’ll know if I will be able to come in. -Josie Kings”. Feeling unwell in the morning, I decided to inform him that I wouldn't be coming into the office. The day passed with me confined to lying about, accomplishing little. However, the following morning brought a significant improvement in my condition, prompting me to dress for work and resume my usual routine. Upon arrival, Noah summoned me into his office. As we conversed, a woman entered, prompting his dismissal of me back to my desk. Moments later, peculiar noises emanated from the office, piquing my curiosity. Pressing my ear against the door, I was stunned by the sounds with intimate and unmistakably amorous, skins were slapping against eachother, moans and grunts filled the room. I creaked the door open a bit giving into my curiosity I gasped in surprise but what surprised me more was that even as I was bleeding through my p***y, I could still feel myself get aroused by what I saw. With trembling legs and flushed cheeks, I made my way back to my desk, still reeling from the shocking sight I had witnessed. Before long, the office door opened, and Noah emerged with the woman in tow. Escorting her to the elevator, he returned to his office, gesturing for me to follow him inside. The office reeked of s*x and I walked to his desk and sat down. I looked at the table and saw p***y juice on it then looked back at him coughing. He looked at the table and cleaned it off with a napkin on his desk, throwing it into the bin. He gave me a list of what to do and we worked on it together. He seemed chill, maybe he just needed to get intimate with someone to loosen up a bit. After a few hours, we were done with work and ready to go. “get in I’ll drop you off” Noah said. “I’m fine Mr. Williams but i can manage on my own” i responded politely. “It wasn’t a request Josie” he retorted. This is the first he called me by first name, I wonder why it made me smile. Expressing gratitude, I climbed into the car as he drove me home before departing. Upon arriving at my apartment, I was greeted by Ava at the door, her curiosity piqued. "Who was that?" she inquired eagerly, her face lit up with curiosity. "Noah Williams," I replied, still processing the events of the day. "Wait, wasn't he the one you described as the spawn of the devil?" she questioned, surprised by the revelation. "He certainly didn't leave me with much of a choice. Do I look like I have options in that environment?" I retorted, the frustration evident in my tone. "That does make sense," she conceded, laughter dancing in her eyes. "You won't believe what I witnessed today, Noah Williams f****d a woman right on his office table. He made me come into his office afterwards and it reeked of s*x. To top it off, I saw her p***y juice on the table and he looked me dead in the eye and cleaned it off while disposing the napkin and we went back to work like nothing happened” I ranted. Ava stood there with her eyes wide and her mouth open unable to speak. “If you don’t close your mouth, a fly might go in there” I told her. She regained from her shock, “is this a joke?” She asked and I shook my head in response. “I wish I could witness this, it would instantly make my day or better still, be the woman who he had intimacy with. It would be even better” Ava gushed and I rushed over to her putting my hand over her mouth to stop her from speaking further while laughing. “Shut it now will you?” I said as my laughter died down. I understood where Ava was coming from because I wished to be in his arms instead too but I couldn’t let her know that. I could not erase the image of him and that lady at the office, I quickly pushed it to the back of my mind and got ready for bed. The week blurred by until my favorite part arrived the weekend. Ava treated me to a night at a strip club, which was a blast. We returned home quite tipsy, grateful that the weekend was still in full swing. After crashing on the couch, we woke up feeling the effects of the previous night. I whipped up a hearty meal for us and we hydrated with plenty of water. It has been a month since I started working for Noah Williams. I received my first paycheck today and I can officially say that I’m not broke and if I can keep this job, I won’t be broke for a long time. I dropped by at the mall on my way from work and restocked my fridge. I started a saving plan as well. I need to plan for rainy days. Soon, it was close to the end of the week. We had an outdoor meeting and I really didn’t think I was needed there to be honest because it did not look work related to me. I sat down and opened my notepad and began jotting things down. Soon, the same woman from the time we had lunch came by again. This time he did not ask me to leave, there were still clients at the table. “This is Josie Kings, my assistant. Ms. Kings this is Cassandra” he introduced not bothering to let me know who she is to him. I brought out my hand for a shake and she just nodded at me curtly and sat down. I withdrew my hand, carrying on with my evening as if she weren't there. "How long have you been working for Noah?" she prodded, but I chose to ignore her, pretending not to hear. "I don't know where you find these low-class types. Your little friend here is ignoring me, how dare she," she complained to Noah before turning back to me. "Who do you think you are? Because you f**k Noah all over the office, you think you can do as you please?" she continued, her tone growing more confrontational. Fed up with her insults, I loudly dropped my cutlery. "How dare you? You're the only one here desperate for his attention. I don't need it. Not all of us are born with a silver spoon in our mouths like you. So, before you open that mouth of yours to speak to me again, choose your words carefully," I retorted, standing up and storming out.As I tried to hail a taxi, a hand gripped mine, his scent enveloping me. "This will be the last time you speak to my guest in such a disrespectful manner," Noah said, not turning to face me but still holding my hand firmly. I tried to pull away for comfort, but his grip remained firm. "Don't bother coming to work next week. You're suspended until further notice. Hopefully, after some thought, I'll find a reason to call you back," he declared before walking away, leaving me stunned. How could he suspend me after hearing everything she said? In tears, I rode home in a cab and called Ava over for support. She arrived with a bucket of ice cream to console me. "I can't believe he would do that to me, especially after seeing how that woman treated me. A suspension? It's barely been over a month," I sobbed into Ava's chest. "Well, at least it's just a suspension. From what I've heard, he fires people left and right. He'll definitely call you back. Maybe he has a soft spot for you, which is why he didn't fire you outright. Don't forget, you're beautiful," Ava reassured me, her words bringing a slight smile to my face. I resolved to hold onto hope that he would call me back, but if a week passed without any word, I knew I'd have to start looking for a new job to spare myself further heartache.
