Chapter 2 Niko's POV

2280 Words
" Boss, boss " Nick's harsh whisper ripped me from my thoughts. I looked down at him with a sneer and the thing I loved about Nick , he doesn't cower like the rest do when my murderous rage gets thrown in his direction. He was nearly a foot shorter than me, but the little f*cker was fast on his feet and vicious. " What ? " I hiss. He stares right back at me, unfazed by the tone of my voice. " You need to lure the girl away from her father, not scare the sh*t out of her .... yet" he tacks on to the end, then glances her way, then back at me. " You were glaring at her that hard with evil intent. I think she sensed it, she looked this way and, well, her perfect lady robot act cracked for a second, she recoiled slightly " Nick tells me. F*ck, I blanked my features, something I was usually a pro at. I had a poker face many would kill for, but I had gotten lost staring at her and let it slip. The plan was for me to charm her and her family as a distraction, then a shoot-up would start, and I would make sure they got split up in the c*****e. Later, I would be found with a bullet wound in the arm and passed out, and she would be nowhere to be seen. When questioned, I hid her behind the bar and then went to find my men. I didn't make it two feet before I was shot and then my story would be a stampede went past and sent me flying, cracking my head onto the floor, knocking me out. Cameras later will show just that to clear my involvement, and sliced where needed to make it all look legit and to end all trails of which way Nick would then take her. Then I would reveal I had her at the right time. Me scaring the f*ck out of her wouldn't exactly get her to trust me and follow me to safety, would it ? Dumb f*ck I belittle myself. Turning to look back at her, I didn't smile, that would make me look like a psychopath. I was, but she didn't need to know that. Not yet. I just keep my face blank, I then turn my gaze from neutral to predatory and lustful. I'll later play my anger off as attraction. " Get everyone in position, watch for my signal " I turned my head slightly, keeping my eyes on her, a slow and small smile gracing my lips as she continued to try to not look at me but was failing, her face still a mask, a fake smile, but I saw the way she kept looking back and then I murmured my instructions to Nick, the small smile on my face and my eyes keeping on her will make her think I was talking about her. I saw just ever so slightly the lowering of her eyebrows before she caught herself and raised them again. Her eyes flickered away, and she laughed at whatever her father said like a good daughter. Nick smirked at me, he knew what I was doing. The game is now in play. He looked over at her, and nodded slightly, playing along. Then he dipped his head and shrunk back into the crowd, blending in. I mingled, charming my way around the room. I didn't want to head straight for them. I also knew I had her attention anyway. She was watching me. Not to sound like a cocky f*ck, but I commanded attention. I learned early on you had to carry yourself with confidence and an attitude that screams you're not to be f*cked with. You had to be an alpha male and show no weakness. Master that you can command any room, not to mention my tall frame and tattoos that adorned my neck and crept up onto my face down my left side. Dons wouldn't usually do that, they like the clean old school mob boss look a crisp suit and clean-shaven face and greased back hair. My look was more unpolished; tattoos, long hair that I ran some wax through and let it stick up. On the odd occasion, I would join the slicked-back look, but the clean-shaven sides of my head and the tattoos that littered my skull too still made me different. The piercing blue eyes that I got from my mother seemed to capture women too. Then the lip ring on the left side that I often found myself fiddling with, with my teeth and tongue made them wish it was them playing with it. Maybe more rock band than biker was my look. I mused to myself while I pretended to listen to whatever boring sh*t was spewing from this man's mouth. Even with my tall figure, I had lean muscle, not overly bulky. I was arrogant enough to know I was a pretty-looking man with a bad boy edge. Often I was told, with my eyes closed, I would be a model, but when my eyes opened, the danger and anger that lingered in them was pure evil and would be too much. But tonight I am flashing my teeth, laughing and smiling. Let her see I was not scary at all, despite the initial glare I had been giving her. I make sure I don't look her way again. But when my eyes sweep the room, I often see her looking at me with small glances where she can sneak them without being caught. After half an hour, I slowly started making my way towards them. They had been crowded all night, Amelia being here was like showing off a prized mare for mating. The other dons with sons were all circling like vultures to see if they could make a match between them. The one who bagged her would propel in this world to the top. Amelia being his only kid meant he needed a son-in-law to pass the business onto. But they were all deluded if they thought he would marry her to anyone in this world. If he had that intention, he wouldn't have made her into a proper lady. Na, she was destined for some stiff-suit husband in a corporate job that wouldn't mind getting his hands dirty too. He could never be a don, but he didn't need to be just keep the fear and the shady sh*t running. Some CEO of a bank or a politician, someone who would parade her around in public and f*ck her like a selfish pr*ck in the bedroom. She will breed his kids and be miserable her entire life. Probably never know what an o****m is. Rumor has it he has kept her pure too, completely untouched. Not even a kiss. I walk slowly behind the crowd that surrounds them, and just like lambs, they know instinctively that a wolf is around and danger is near. They all, one by one, peer over their shoulders, dons of lower houses. Sniveling cowards trying to make a name for themselves. Laughing and creeping up on Frank makes him feel like a celebrity. And he sucks it all in greedy for it. They start to move out of my way, parting like the Red Sea. When he catches my eye, I see him straighten. Only the old school dons don't show any sort of fear when I near. His stare hardens and I see the disdain just simmering underneath the surface. He hates me, he dislikes that I have gained such a status so quickly and, in his mind, I had no right to that respect. I hadn't earned it. My name was dirt to him, if only he knew my real name. I plastered on a fake smile and stuck out my hand as I walked my way to the front of the crowd. After they had all parted for me when they saw my intended destination. I did catch Frank watching it happen, and the small spark of anger that entered his eyes before he masked it. " Frank long time no see" I said pleasantly. A fake smile, as fake as mine, graces his lips. He sticks out his hand and clasps it in mine. " Dominic" he says, a bite in his tone. It was barley there but I spotted it. To the ignorant, how he said my name would have been pleasant. We shake like gentlemen, then he drops my hand as quickly as he can. He places his arm around her waist and pulls her closer to him, not his wife, his daughter, like she was his wife. Sickening. But I didn't look at her still. I kept my eyes on him. " I have been busy with my daughter being home and business, you know," he stated. " Ahhh that would keep you busy. Yes, enduring these events without your presence makes for a dull party " I say. There was an undertone in that statement, one he didn't miss. He had missed the last three of these things, each one I showed up to, just to get more intel on him. To be disappointed when he didn't show. Leaving me to get my information in other ways. " I am sure a man like you found entertainment for himself " he says back, still with that fake smile. Making his own underlying comment. Turning my eyes, I looked at Talia, his wife. A flirty grin graced my lips. I reached out for her hand and she gracefully placed her hand in mine. I saw the faint blush that graced her cheeks even from under the mask she was wearing. " It is lovely to meet you again, Talia, you look as radiant as ever. I swear you have discovered the secret to eternal beauty" I charm and that stain on her cheeks gets deeper. Slowly dipping my head, I keep my eyes on hers as I kiss her gloved hand. She didn't answer back, but I saw how she trapped her bottom lip between her teeth. Then she seemed to remember herself and pulled her hand back and glanced at her husband. I slowly stood back straight and shoved my hands into my pockets, hiding the smirk on my face as I looked back at Frank. He wasn't glaring at his wife like I thought he would be. He was talking to Ameila, whispering to her, he had pulled her extremely close to him. She didn't show any emotions on her face or react to what he was saying. But out of curiosity, I glanced back at Talia to see her reaction to her husband's behavior towards their daughter, and she was trying to hide her disgust, but she wasn't succeeding. She must have felt me looking because she glanced back at me and quickly lowered her head. Looking back at them, I saw Ameila subtly nod and then Frank pulled away. " You must be Amelia ? " I asked, dropping my voice. I reached out a hand to her, and she robotically placed hers in mine. The emotions I saw earlier were completely gone, her eyes looked glazed and empty. " This is my daughter " Frank said proudly. The hand he still had on her hip gripped harder, scrunching the fabric up. I leaned down and kissed her hand just the same as I had her mothers, but my eyes strayed towards Frank and I saw a spark of annoyance and what sickeningly looked like jealousy. " The rumors do not do your beauty justice, you are definitely your mother's daughter "I say, looking back at her. Even with the white lacy mask covering her eyes, I saw how thick her lashes were, her brown hair that looked to have strands of auburn running through it, was curled to perfection around her face, her lips were plump, her nose was small and pixie-like. Then her eyes were a mesmerizing brown with green flecks in them. My eyes left her face, and moved down her body. Her breasts that were plump and swollen nearly spilled over her white dress' bodice that sparkled with all the crystals on it, then it hung tightly to the curve of her waist and the swell of her hips, then glistened as it dropped to the floor. He had even had her dressed like an angel. My c*ck stirred again in my trousers and that woke me up, anger bubbling in my stomach. I snapped upright and dropped her hand. Looking away from her to her father, who was trying to hide his glare, I raised my hand to the back of my head and rubbed my neck, giving the signal, f*ck charming her to trust me. I would just drag her in that direction. " Frank, I was hoping to talk to you about some business " I said to give my men time to do what I had asked. We were acting quicker than planned. I had timed in at least another ten minutes of charming conversation. Making sure I didn't look back her way as I justified why I was still standing there and started rattling some random sh*t to her dad about seeing if I could have a dock at his shipment yard. Frank seemed to relax a little now that I had taken my eyes off of her too. Then the bangs started, it was go time. My men didn't disappoint they were ready even if we were going earlier than planned.
