The warrior hall in the royal citadel echoed with the rhythmic thuds of fists against leather, each punch a desperate bid to outrun guilt. How did things get so wrong? Lucas drove his knuckles into the heavy bag, sweat pouring down his bare torso, muscles burning with the strain. The bag swung wildly, chains rattling like bones in a grave. Training was his only escape, the only way to silence the roar in his mind. He felt a sense of guilt inside. As the eldest in their family, not being able to protect his sister and his causing was disappointing. Lilith, not only was his family, she was also his future queen and she was expecting with the royal heir. They thought they were safe, the security was tight and tripled, yet it didn’t prevent the enemy to best them with that surprise attack.
