"Gracie?" Monica's familiar voice reached my ears and my entire universe went completely and utterly silent. Footsteps on my father's carpet announced that she had stepped into the room. Then she whispered another word, "Daddy??" Slowly, I turned my head until I was staring at my younger sister. Her eyes were wide in shock and her mouth was hanging open. She wasn't stupid.
