Chapter 10The bed shifted, causing me to roll over onto my back. I squinted one eye open to see that it was still fairly dark outside, though the first sunrays were growing stronger, announcing daybreak. Boaz’s cologne hit me, and a slow warmth spread over my body, a smile across my face. “It’s early,” I whispered. “Mmmhm.” Boaz gathered me to him and spooned me, but I couldn’t fall back asleep. I was distracted by his proximity, the beating of his heart, the slow breathing coming from his nostrils. My heart raced as he held me. Still, I lay there enjoying every second for another hour. “Why did you come back so early?” I wondered aloud, trying to think of anything other than my hips fitting together with his.
