Bella's Pov
I walked back to the pack house with my three warriors guarding me and one carrying my father, tonight I was out for blood. The man that did this was going to pay with his life. When we got back to the pack house, I turned to the warrior that carried my father and nodded my head to take him to his office. His office was the one place that he loved and he said that he could still talk to mom. I had never met my mom. She died in war, but based on the fact that I am a direct descendent of the Moongoddess, I'm going to assume that my mother was the Moongoddess herself. I watched through narrow eyes as the warrior carefully took my father to his office. I didn't move till I saw that my father was in his office, then I made my way to the safe house that sat deep in the woods of our territory, I punched in the code and was greeted with the snarls of she-wolves trying to protect their young.
"It is just me Bella Rose.." I took a breath, my voice shaking "Luna of the Bloodbane pack". I bit back my tears that threatened to spill over at any second.
The she-wolves relaxed when they realized that it was just me. I didn't want them to worry about the fact that I was Luna right now. I needed to get a head count of how many wolves were left in the pack after that bloodbath. I turned and shifted into my wolf and the she-wolves with pups did the same, allowing their pups to climb up onto their backs. They followed me back to the pack house at a light jog, as it was a bit of a trek from the pack house, once we reached the pack house the she-wolves' hackles raised and they bared their teeth at what they thought was a threat. I whipped my head around and bared my teeth at what might be a threat, but I saw my mate walking towards us, I walked over to him and lept on him pinning him underneath me with a paw, I snarled at him and then I dropped my body onto him. He let out a breath of air before laughing and patting my big wolf head, I got off him and he got up and stood next to me, the she-wolf's hackles were still raised and teeth still bared, so I shifted back into my human form and pecked him on the lips. I then grabbed him by the hand, dragging him away from the stressed she-wolves, they followed us into the pack house still in wolf form.
" We have collected the bodies of all the fallen warriors and they are laid in the backyard." One of my warriors said to me, making me jump.
"Good can you make a perimeter around the house while I bring the other wolves in and see if anyone recognizes any of the fallen wolves?" I asked, sounding tired. The warrior just nodded and took off to find the others and tell them what the plan was. I walked back to where all of the remaining wolves in my pack had gathered.
"I bring grave news." I announced, gaining the attention of all the wolves. "We have suffered great losses in this unrightful attack. Many of our warriors were lost, but my father, Daniel Rose, was also lost. This attack may have taken away some of our family and friends, but it didn't take away our flame! In fact, it just fueled our fire. This attack will be the last!" I said in a rather strong and confident voice. A bunch of the wolves started to cheer, and a few even tipped their heads back and howled at my words. I let them settle down before continuing with more pressing words.
"On a sadder note, we have the bodies of our fallen warriors in the backyard. Please see if you can't find your mate, brother, anyone who you might recognize and let me know. They will all receive a proper burial and the highest honor for giving their lives in this battle." I said, not meeting the gaze of any wolf, it was far too painful to look at any one wolf. I was handed a dress that I could slip on over my head, so I did. I then headed out the back with my mate on my heels. I opened the door and walked out when a very distressed wail reached my ears.
"Please Gabe, you have to wake up! What about our daughter?! You promised you would be there for her birth! Wake up goddamn it!" I turned my head to see where the noise was coming from, I then saw a very pregnant she-wolf shaking the body of one of the downed warriors. My heart shattered for her and I rushed to her side, she was crying so hard she was shaking and I took her into my arms and she just collapsed in my lap. I sat there with her till her tears started to slow. She looked at me and just pulled me into a hug, that was my breaking point, I started to cry. I cried for my father, I cried for my pack, and I cried for my mother, who I had never even met.
