“Excuse me?” Liam strode in, still clenching the broken door handle. “I was away for a while, and my friend is busy stealing my wife!” Jake shrugged, standing up to face him.
“Liam, leave!” Anna’s cold voice cut through the tension in the room. What the hell was he doing here? What right did he have to be angry, jealous, or whatever he was feeling? Anger rose to her chest, suffocating her. For once in her life, she didn’t want to see his sorry face.
“I won’t leave.” Liam took a step closer, brushing Jake’s shoulder. “We have to get this clear.”
“Isn’t it enough that your mistress sent in those paparazzi to annoy the hell out of me? Now you are here to annoy the remaining life out of me, too?” Anna exhaled, pinching the tension forming on her nose bridge. “Please, I’m tired.”
