The cheers broke what was left of the moment. Applause, laughter, the crew calling it perfect chemistry. I stepped back from Cade, my breath uneven. The photographer was grinning, already reviewing the shots. Cade wore that smug little smile, the kind that said he’d done exactly what he wanted. I turned away, furious. This wasn’t part of the shoot. Not the plan. Not anything we agreed on. By the time I changed and came out, he was gone.
