Mitchell's Part Mitchell waited impatiently for Lily to show up at the spot where she had asked her to meet her, glancing at her wrist watch to see the time. She knew Lily doesn't have the kind of clothes that would suit her kind of party, so they both agreed to meet at the spot leading to Mitchell's house through the woods knowing she would not be allowed through their main gate if Lily is not dressed appropriately for the party. "Oh, finally," Mitchell muttered in relief as she saw Lily running towards her from a distance after alighting from the bus. "What took you so long?" Mitchell asked immediately she ran up to her. "I am sorry, girl, I had to take care of a few things at home," Lily replied panting, and walking quickly behind Mitchell who turned to the woods immediately as she led her through the woods, heading to her house. "It's alright, what's important is that you are here," Mitchell replied. "Did you tell your parents that you are spending the night?" Mitchell added, gazing at Lily even as she continued walking. "Yes, I did," Lily replied with a smile spread across her lips. "I told you girl, I am free like a bird and my parents trust that I can take care of myself," Lily replied happily, walking fast behind her as Mitchell took the lead. "Well, I think this is the beginning of my freedom as well," Mitchell told her too with a smile across her lips, still very excited that she had been given permission to invite a friend over to her house for her birthday party. "Wait, what is this place?" Lily asked, glancing around the woods as they walked farther into the woods, she didn't know Mitchell could walk the woods like this for a girl of her calibre. "Come on, girl, you don't need to be afraid," Mitchell turned to gaze at her again. "Afraid? I am not afraid, Mitchell, I am only surprised you know," she told her, running to walk in front of Mitchell who lifted her brows a little. "Surprised? About what?" Mitchell asked, gesturing for Lily to follow her as she took a turn. "That you could walk the woods, of course, for a girl like you," Lily replied, walking behind her again. Mitchell flashed her a smile, knowing what she meant, "Well, this is the one place my parents allowed me to walk freely, although they would walk with me when I was a little girl to make sure I was alright but they let me walk by myself when I became sixteen and that was as far as my freedom stopped until today." Mitchell told her friend and then stopped abruptly, making Lily stop too, lifting her brows to her, wondering why they stopped. "We are here, Lily," Mitchell told her, lifting up a small fence covered with bushes. "Wow," Lily gasped when she peeked through the small fence to see Mitchell's beautiful house glowing in front of her. "Come on, girl," Mitchell told her crawling through the fence and gestured for her to follow. She closed it properly again once they were in. "Does your parents know about this secret passage of yours?" Lily asked in curiosity, walking behind Mitchell again. "No, Lily," Mitchell replied, flashing her a glance, "it's a short cut and my little secret, I created it when I started walking the woods myself." She added, giggling a little and leading Lily into her room through a back door. Lily's eyes sparkled with excitement immediately as she walked into Mitchell's huge room. "I knew it," she muttered, pausing by her door. "You knew what?" Mitchell asked after closing her door, walking past her and peering at her face, she didn't expect the expression she saw on her face and was a little puzzled "You are living the life of a princess, girl," Lily told her walking into the room, her eyes wandering around the place. Mitchell shook her head a little, smiles spread across her lips as she thought Lily was only exaggerating. "Come on, Lily, we need to get ready, the party is about to start," Mitchell told her, walking towards her closet, with Lily walking behind her, her eyes still glowing in astonishment as she looked around Mitchell's room. About an hour later, Mitchell and Lily were already dressed. They stood in front of Mitchell's dressing mirror peering and admiring their reflections in the mirror, especially Lily, who felt like a princess in one of Mitchell's clothes. "Wait here, Lily, I need to check the situation of things down stairs," Mitchell told her friend. "Can I come with you?" Lily asked, her face still glowing with excitement, as she felt honoured that Mitchell chose her to be her guest among all her friends in school. She cannot wait to explore Mitchell's house and Mitchell sensed that. "Slow down girl, we have the entire night to explore you know," Mitchell said feeling excited to have her too and enjoyed her enthusiasm to explore her house and her carefree personality. "You wait here, I will just check the situation downstairs and come and fetch you," Mitchell told her again, "you are my first guest and you will be introduced in style," Mitchell added, smiling as she gestured for her to sit down and wait for her before turning towards her door. Mitchell walked down the stairs, taking note of how beautifully decorated her house looked and the sound of soft cool music that filled the air. She paused half way through the stairs making sure none of the guests saw her as she peeked down, smiling broadly to herself for the first time, knowing she would not feel awkward today with Lily in her party, as she watched her parents' guests walking in through the huge front door of their house that was wide open with two of their security men standing by the door. Mitchell quietly turned around again after peeking around in search of her parents but didn't find them, she needed to inform them of her friend's arrival so she went to look for them in her Dad's study room, knowing she would find them there. She walked happily towards her Dad's study room but suddenly stopped a few steps away from the stairs leading to her Dad's study room when her ears caught a rather strange discussion going on between her parents and a man she thought would be her Dad's friend from the sound of his voice. She quietly sat down on the stairs and listened, not willing to interrupt them, her heart froze almost immediately as her mum's words resounded in her head. "Feeding Mitchell her friend's blood would make the ritual more effective Dav, this will awaken her powers immediately, that's what was written in the books," Mitchell had heard her mum say. "Blood? Whose blood? Lily's blood, to me?" Mitchell asked inwardly, trying to make sense of what she just heard. "She is born of a Vampire and a werewolf blood, Dav, what do you expect?" Mitchell heard her dad say too, making her jaw drop too, wondering who is the vampire and who is the werewolf.
