Mitchell's heart started to race immediately after Donald's statement, her gaze still on Raymond and the new girl, taking note of how Raymond gestured to her to follow him. Even though he did not touch her, he gazed at her in a way that suggested he fancy her, just like he had also gazed at her, "is she also new here?" Mitchell asked Donald, turning her gaze to him, even when she thought that she knew the truth already.
