Braylen observed Russell with a serious expression on his face.
Russell lounged lazily on the couch, arching an eyebrow playfully. "Brodie, why are you staring at me like that?"
Braylen pursed his lips and asked, "Russell, have you really recovered?"
"Of course."
Braylen leaned against the long table, took out a cigarette box from his pocket, shook out one, and lit it. "Do you smoke?"
Russell shrugged, "I didn't want Layne to inhale secondhand smoke."
Upon hearing the words, Braylen paused for a moment and then pressed the just lit cigarette butt into the ashtray.
"The child indeed looked a lot like Zoey, but I didn't want you to become a pawn in someone else's game."
