A less-than-enthusiastic team gathered in an unused section of the Pima County Sheriff"s fleet building the following morning. Six eight-foot-long folding tables were pushed together to make a large work surface. It was two tables wide and three long. A large blue vinyl tarp covered the assembly.
Evidence technicians from the city police and the sheriff’s department worked together, dumping out the bags of garbage collected from Evan Brown’s home, one at a time. They spread the contents across the tarp, looking for useful evidence.
Unimpressed with the assignment he’d been given on his first day back to work, Dan Felty stood back, overseeing the operation. As the evidence technicians searched, he was available in case they discovered anything of interest.
