Doctor Steven Cable walked through the main door at the Pima County Adult Detention Center. “Morning, Doc,” an employee said. Steven raised his right hand in acknowledgment. In his left hand, he carried two case files, both of which he"d spent more than an hour reviewing early this morning. He held up the laminated card he wore around his neck for the receptionist to see. She pressed a button, and the security lock released, allowing him past the first of several doors. A sheriff’s deputy met him, and Dr. Cable handed over the files and emptied his pockets before passing through a metal detector.
