Chapter 11

2140 Words

Before Sarah could blink, he had her by the throat, pinning her against the wall. It happened so quickly that, for a moment, she was at a loss as to what to do or even think. Then it hit her, the panic. She thrashed out with arms and legs, managed to get a grip on his hand, dug her nails like claws into his flesh. He grinned and as she kicked out, he simply turned to the side, her foot hitting his shins, not his more vulnerable parts. He jutted his face close to hers, increasing the pressure of his fingers. Her eyes bulged, desperation overwhelming her. She tried to scream, but nothing would work. The smell of his aftershave invaded her nostrils and then he spoke, a voice like gravel, and so low that it made her blood freeze. “Stop struggling, and don’t scream. If you do, I’ll kill yer.”
