Detectives Felty and Bell pulled in at the midtown office at about 11 am on Monday.
Because of the weekend, there had been a delay in getting Valorie Lee to sit with the sketch artist. Still, she’d arrived early this morning and was now finishing up. The detectives wanted to speak to her again. They hoped there might be something more she remembered since she’d had some time to recover from the trauma. They were also eager to see the sketch and possibly be closer to catching the killer.
Mac got out of the car first and, as she stood, she noticed movement. Turning, she saw someone running towards them from behind a dumpster. He approached from the opposite side of the car and charged toward Dan, who’d only just started to exit the vehicle. The runner had already closed to about 15 feet. H
