Jenny Moore and her husband, Bob, walked down the sidewalk. Each was holding the leash of a dog. The twin 70-pound mutts had been part of the family for four years, and the evening walks through the subdivision were a regular event. As they were approaching their house, Jenny’s phone rang. Fishing it from her pocket while holding the leash, she answered, “Hello?” “Detective Moore? This is Deputy Chief Mike Sawyer.” After a brief pause of confusion, Jenny replied, “Good evening, Chief. What can I do for you?” “I wanted to call and let you know that, effective immediately, you and your partner are being assigned to an inter-agency task force to work on the spray foam case.” She felt a thrill.
