Iwoke up to the latest headline in town.
It was on every blog,social media platforms and newspaper that ever existed.
BILLIONAIRE CEO OF THE CROFT INDUSTRIES TAKES HIS WIFE TO COURT FOR A MISUNDERSTANDING RELATING TO THEIR ONGOING DIVORCE…
I was stunned that Ethan was really going to bring this to the public,was he really going to drag the croft legacy in the muds like this.
The first person that came to mind immediately called,it was my lawyer Margaret.
This was no longer a divorce but now a war putting us in a tight spot, especially my exit plan.
I picked immediately
“Have you seen the headlines”
“Tell me about It”i responded
I placed my phone in my ears using my shoulder to wage it as i poured myself some coffee.
“What happened?”
“I thought we were going to take the safe route?”
“His lawyers and his girlfriend are terrible advicers i must confess”
“I'll start getting the papers ready and I'll need every information i can get from you,so please if you have anything to tell me my inbox is always opened”
“I just received an email, they're from his lawyers,I’ll read it and relate back to you”
Daniel was already on the line so immediately i dropped Margaret's call,i picked his.
“A lawsuit now that irresponsible of that psychopath,who sues his wife for suspicious withheld material or informations”
“He wasn't bluffing,i just received an email from his lawyers, Vivienne is clearly manipulating him you remember she gave me a week to leave but i was still stalling so i believe this is operation action and not words”
“Son of a b***h”Daniel whispered.
I received an official notice of the lawsuit through his lawyers but i wasn't responding anytime soon especially without a chat with ethan and a confirmation from my lawyer.
At exactly 8pm i took a little drive to the
penthouse for two reasons to clear my head and get alot off my chest,i wasn't going there to show emotions but authority.
I pulled into the curbs of the pent house my headlights carved through the garage glass,some rooms where dark while some sprouted out with beautiful lights from the chandeliers
The plan was to pay my to be ex husband a suprise visit so i parked in the garden so he wouldn't have a clue i was here.
I never returned the spare keys so i made my way to the top floor,i watched the city below dissolve into an ethereal dreamscape, the lights transforming the streets into a glowing sea of stars.
i knew he wouldn't be back until after midnight so i decided to make myself comfortable,made dinner,ate and slipped into the couch for some movie it was a matter of time till i blacked out.
I heard the garage door squeaked open so i took position at the dinning table.
“You're really living the bachelor's life aren't you?”
“Heaven's gate what the hell mara”he was scared to death from the look on his face and ofcourse drunk too.
“Good evening to you too”
“Didn't you return the keys?”.He said he was definitely drunk to stupor
“Drop the lawsuit i came to drop a message I'm not here to chitchat with you”
“Or what?”
I chuckled,”I feel threatened Ethan i lawsuit seriously?”
“Then sign page nineteen we don't have to keep going over this,you chose what was best for you”He said with a smirk across his cheeks letting his eyes drop down my chest.
The air in the room started to feel weird
“Excuse me”
“Sorry that was a mistake”
He said as his stuttered towards the fridge to grab himself a bottle of water.
He looked at me with those facial expressions i have come to hate,i sigh and went straight for the window.
“We spend three years in this house and your telling me that in those three years you felt nothing Ethan”i said with anger in my voice as i turned to face him
“Not tonight please mara”
“Then when?,when are you going to explain to me what the hell is going on huh?”
He slammed his hands on top of the kitchen counter and walked directly to me holding my chin up and slamming my back to the glass walls of the pent house.
His breath were intense as his grip became harder.
“You have a way of making life hard for everyone don't you?”
“You had too much to drink Ethan you don't know what you're saying”
“No you're the one who doesn't know what she's saying” he responded his grip still around my chin a little lighter than earlier his lips making it's way towards mine.
I let myself enjoy the moment he kissed me softly,our tongues collided,my whole body was tensed.
I came here for something different and I'm right here doing something entirely different but i won't lie i was enjoying every bit of it,it's been months since i was laid and in that moment i realised i still had a soft spot for ethan.
He reached his hands in my pants and started thrusting in and out softly the wet squelching sound echoed in the room.
I moaned softly begging him to stop but my body betrayed me.
“Yeah,you like that”he sneered pumping his fingers deeper his hot breaths in my ear.
He yanked my blouse open,buttons flying and pulled my bra down,i immediately came to my senses and pushed him to the floor.
“Get off me you son of a b***h”i yelled angrily.
Different emotions ran through me and i just wanted the night to come to an end.
He laid on the floor laughing hysterically muttering words like i care about you mara and i really don't want to hurt you but I'm confused and all i could see was a man who didn't know what he wants.
I took the guest room,took a hot shower and went straight to bed before i sleep i kept on replaying the whole scenario in my head wishing the man i fell in love with made me feel like this for the last three years i spent with him,i was lost in my thoughts when my phone suddenly rang.
It was Daniel and i knew he was at my place and i was right.
“Where are you I'm at your front pouch and your door is obviously locked”.
“By past midnight seriously Ethan”
“Damn mara where are you?”
“I went to pay Ethan a visit”
The line went silent for over 3mins till he finally said this.
“i’m confused”
“I thought to pay him a visit so i could talk him out of dropping the lawsuit”
“You really think a man who hasn't paid attention to you in the last three years of your relationship will start listening to you now? You suprise me mara”he voice was steady
“What do you mean?”
“Don't you see it mara,don't you see you're nothing but a joke to Ethan and the only thing needed to do is step up to his game,there was no need paying him a visit you just made a fool of yourself”
He said as he immediately ended the call on me
Daniel was right i had no reason to be here and even if i did i already blew that up.
