CHAPTER 14 Tana jumped at the sound. As if she’d never heard her phone ring before. She looked around the room, then spotted her phone on the coffee table. She stared at it for a moment, frightened that someone was calling her in the middle of the night. Good news never rang in the middle of the night. Only bad news. She thought of her parents and wondered if something terrible had happened. But she was already frightened by the bucket, the sand, the shovel. Was that was the call was about?
