Mimi threw a glance at Tana as she pulled away from the curb and merged her Subaru Outback into rush hour traffic. “So what’s up with your apartment?”
Tana shrugged. “You heard him. They tore the place apart instead of me.”
“But why?”
Tana did have an idea why. First, they tried to kill her. Then her apartment was tossed. The two had to be connected. It wasn’t just some random break-in. That would have been bad enough, but it would’ve been better than the truth. But the thought of having to explain it all to Mimi made her dizzy. So she just shook her head.
“Maybe you should move.”
“Right, like back to Montana.”
