CHAPTER FORTY-FOUR At six o’clock on the dot, Charlotte reached the bottom of the steps to the pool. With no rain since the last time she’d been here, the water was back to its usual levels, lapping against the low banks and the ground once again firm underfoot. She stopped when her feet touched the grass and slipped out of her sandals. Trev stood at the water’s edge, staring up at the waterfall. He’d changed into a T-shirt and shorts, as she had.
