It was late in Seattle, the sky was like a black sheet with the stars like pin holes of light. the city shined bright like it always does, but something was different about tonight, something no one could see. High above the city was a small speck in the sky, if someone decided to take a break from there nightly walk threw the city and look up, they would only see the blackness of the sky, and not the person floating high above them. Travis looked down at the city below him, his body floating in the night sky. Pulling out his phone he looked at the screen, no messages, no voice mails, no calls, no nothing, it was always nothing, always.Slipping the phone back into his jacket's pocket, Travis took a deep breath and slowly started to descend down toward the city below. As the city grew closer, Travis couldn't help but feeling the overwhelming sensation of loneliness, he was always alone, ever sense he was a kid. 25 now, Travis spent most of his life in an orphanage in upstate new York. His parents put him up for adoption when he was just a baby, but sadly that's not the worst part. Travis was born with a strong psionic power, as he grew, so did his power. It started out with just being able to move things, then after one of the kids in the orphanage threw a baseball at his head, Travis was able to create a shield of psionic energy around him, he grind at those d***s as they watched the ball bounce off with out even a scratch on him. Eventually it got to the point we're he was even able to grab himself with his mind and lift himself into the air.
Travis landed on the street and looked around, from above everything was quiet, still, silent, down in the street now everything seemed to be cranked up. Travis could hear cars driving by him, people talking in shops and on the street next to him. The meet and greet was not till 12 o'clock the next day. Sticking his hands in his pockets, Travis started down the street. Realizing he wasn't sure where he was actually going Travis reached in to his jacket and pulled out his phone, doing a quick google search, he was able to pull up a motel close by for cheap.
It was 10 am when Travis's phone alarm went off. Waking up was always hard for him, sleep was never enough, especially if your flying from one place to the next threw the night. Getting dressed, Travis checked out of the motel and headed towards his destination.
The book store Travis was heading to wasn't what you'd say popular, but it was well known by the locals, the guest they were hosting today was Alexander White, author of the bestselling book "the power of the mind and how to harness it". Alexander proclaimed that threw his book and teachings you would be able to unlock the power of the mind and unlock it's secrets.
The meet and greet started off as expected, Alexander shmoozed the fans with his books stacked next to him, enlightened speaches, and pictures Travis had to hold back laughter of Alexander aperently "levetating", which Travis could clearly see was Alexander jumping in the air and then crossing his legs in a lotus position. Travis watched as Alexander continued to con these people into giving him money, it was clear that he wouldn't get any answers from Alexander. Takeing a deep breath Travis turned for the door, a slight grin growing on his face. Turning towards the group again he focused his gaze on the stack of books next to Alexander, everyone gasped as they all flew at Alexander White, making him probably for the first time speachless. Even though this was a dead end for him, Travis still got a little joy in seeing this con man get a little taste of humiliation.
Walking out Travis looked down the street, he was hungry. Another quick google search showed there was a Taco truck near by. fifteen minutes later he was sitting on a curb, enjoying his taco, and researching this group in Washington who claim they have "special powers of the mind". Travis look up at the sky, it was still to early to take flight yet, he'd have to wait.
Strolling the streets wasn't bad, with his earbuds in, Travis wondered threw the city listening to his favorite band "terror punk syndicate", his favorite song by them was "dismorfia".
Finally nightfall had come and it was safe for him to take flight, Travis didn't have much, if anything, everything he owned was in a back pack he carried. Finding a secluded park, he scanned for watching eyes, he found none. Looking one more time down at his phone, Travis looked at Google maps and saw the distance from Seattle to Washington. With one more quick scan for watching eyes, Travis flew into the air with out a trace.
