A different reality.

Charlotte woke up in what looked like a hospital even though she thought her dream had come to an end and she would be back in her room, she wasn't. She scanned the room with heavy eyes, her eyes fell on the man from before sleeping on the couch and then roamed her body. She saw horrific scars on her left arm and let out a gasp. "Don't worry about those, they'll clear up once you get better" the man said startling her, he was awake now and standing by the couch. " I don't think that's possible." She said more to her self as she wondered how she got them." They're pretty deep and will surely leave a scar" "But it won't do you know why? " He asked . And she nodded in refusal. " You really forgot about everything didn't you?" He asked again turning his head in frustration as if thinking about what to to do next. " What did I forget about and why am I here in a hospital bed?" She asked suddenly feeling touched by his reaction even though she didn't know why. " Your here cause you fainted" he said " And the scar is cause you were attacked by rogues" he added " Aren't rogues werewolves without packs?" She asked. " Yes." He replied. " That's not possible werewolves don't exist." " But they do ." He said. " Okay , how much is my mum paying you to lie? Cause this whole joke is classic." She said giggling while he looked at her surprised. " What's your name by the way?" She asked when she noticed he wasn't going to answer her first question. " It's Dylan." He said looking at her." And this is not a prank you must have hit your head real bad." he said the last part more to himself than her. " So you're saying am a werewolf ??" She asked shifting in her hospital bed. " Not precisely, you are a werewolf but different." He answered sitting back down on the couch and from what Charlotte could observe he had a very strong ora coming off him. " Different how ?" She asked looking at him in the eye. " Don't worry you'll remember soon"- " Just tell me!" She snapped the suspense killing her cause she knew she won't be remembering anything. " Sorry " she said at the look he gave her after she snapped she guessed she never yelled here." Am just anxious to know." She added " It's okay, perfectly understandable" Dylan said." I just hope you understand your story.". " Why?" " It's complicated and goes like this. You're a hybrid"- " A what now?" She interrupted. " Yes. A hybrid part witch part werewolf, your mum's a witch and dad werewolf." He paused and Charlotte was busy processing what she just heard even though she wasn't surprised that her mum was a witch cause the woman always smelled evil even outside this dream of hers. " So your part werewolf, part witch and this can't shift into a werewolf but have heightened sense of smell, sight, your fast, extremely strong and can cast spells. Plus you heal quicker." He added. " Okay but now that I know who I am who're you to me?" Charlotte asked. " Am your best friend. " He answered and Charlotte was happy she didn't hear mate. " Well your dad was my dad's beta. He became that after the pack decided to forgive him for his witch mate. We e grew up together and thus are friends." He added. " Friendship is inevitable when you live in the same house growing u." He said the last part smiling and Charlotte couldn't help but feel bad for not remembering a past she never lived. Dylan spent the whole day narrating their childhood to her and she couldn't help but laugh at the funny memories he narrated. Through the whole narrations about her past he never mentioned why she was injurred by rogues. He seemed to be avoiding the topic and the more he avoided it, the more she was curious about it. " Um Dylan,how"- she was about to ask when the door to her hospital room opened and her mom walked in . Her mom's face beamed with smiles on seeing her something that barely to never happen in the real world. " Hey nice to see you are better." Her mom said. " Yeah, Dylan had just been filling me up on my life." Charlotte said giggling at the fact she needed someone to tell her about her life. " Okay, that's nice to know." Her mom said sitting on the bed. " But am sure that if you were patient enough, you would remember." " Well patience had never been my strong point." She said and both Dylan and her mother agreed. Deep down Charlotte had a feeling that although everything here was different, her personality was still the same and she knew she wasn't ready to leave any time soon. A little while after her mom came, the doctor walked in and said she was free to leave the hospital although she had to take things easy for the next few days. She was happy to leave the hospital because it meant exploring more of this different reality besides it's not every day you get to live a fictional book.
